Do you happen to know if that is just for new Barclaycard customers or existing card holders too?0 -
I guessed that it was going to be a sales pitch so that is why I deliberately limited what he was going to say and then deliberately ignored him when he started mentioning B/card and contactless payments. Is this the behaviour of the Go To bank ?
Mmmm...No.
If you don't want B/card (and there are a lot of better deals as promoted on MSE), just cancel it and go elsewhere.
I don't want any credit card, never use one normally (I did use Santander CC a while back, for the cashback which was quite good at the time). I will use the Barclaycard for one transaction per month, paying off in full each month, just for the £1. Just can't resist a freebie.0 -

Only lasts for 24 months from opening the Barclaycard. But you can get it on an existing B/card opened within last 24 months:-
You will only receive cashback for up to 24 months from opening your Barclaycard account (the “Cashback Period”). If you are not already a Barclays Blue Rewards customer, you can join Barclays Blue Rewards at any time (subject to meeting the eligibility criteria) but if you join Barclays Blue Rewards after opening your Barclaycard account, this will affect how many months of cashback you qualify for. For example, if you do not join Barclays Blue Rewards until 8 months after opening your Barclaycard account, you will only receive cashback for the remaining 16 months of the Cashback Period.0 -

Avoid India. As soon as you speak to them, just say 'could I please speak to someone in the UK'. Always works.:D0 -

I strongly suggest that there are better credit deals than B/cad. Look at MSE credit card on https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/credit-cards/best-0-credit-cards.0 -
Switch through today. Almost the easiest switch ever, and certainly the fastest to get organised.
I also took out a Barclaycard.
Use my CCs , especially if contactless as much as possible if there is an incentive! So one small purchase, paid in full by DD will earn me £8 pm from July. What's not to like??
I'm not looking for a CC with 0% interest!Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

I have asked Barclays for the need of a face-2-face meeting with an advisor for a switch rater than a phone call.
As soon as I have a response, I will let people know.0 -
With regards switching, you can only do this via a branch appointment. Just tell them that you just want to switch accounts and you DO NOT WISH to discuss anything else.
I didn't need to make an appointment to switch into an existing account - I just walked into my local branch and asked, and less than five minutes later everything was done and dusted. I had an enjoyable chat about the branch modernisation programme, but absolutely no attempt was made to sell me anything."In the future, everyone will be rich for 15 minutes"0 -

Existing Platinum Barclaycard opened within the last 24 months, not any Barclaycard.Did you really mean to put loose?
Lose: no longer possess, not to retain, unable to find
Loose: not firmly or tightly fixed in place0 -

I have applied and got a platinum B/card. As someone said above, it is nice free money as long as you pay your balance in full each month.0
