Thank you @savingholmes unfortunately I spent the evening in A and E with DD. Got there at 10pm and I left at 6am as they were going to admit her. When I got home she said a new Dr came on shift and said she can go, lied on the discharge letter and even the nurse didn’t want to take her off the drip.
I’m livid, NHS111 sent us there and said she needed to be accompanied so I spent most of the night/morning in the cafe or by the charging case as phone was low. I wasn’t there to say anything or ask questions. I even read a whole Alex cross book from start to finish! I can’t fault the initial staff who assessed and treated her, but it seemed they all disagreed with the new doctors assessment. I don’t know what to do.
DD got home after 11hrs in the hospital, nothing to eat from the morning and is still asleep so I haven’t seen her discharge letter.

Back at the hospital, they seem to think DD will be admitted. She had a negative LFD Thursday and yesterday and now has just done one here and it’s positive!

Oh no, that's a worry for you. Did you think that she was positive anyway? I hope they try and fix her before sending her home this time. Hugs.

Thank you @CRANKY40 anytime one is us is feeling under the weather I do a LFD test, so when it came back negative I thought she had some kind of gastro issue or stomach flu. It seems she can’t taste properly now but PCR results won’t be back until tomorrow. She told me to go home as it was no good me sitting by myself in the other side of the hospital. I don’t live too far so could get there quickly if needed.
I have come to to disinfect the house!  I had been wiping it with antibacterial wipes after she had been in there. So far WC and bathroom done and I have a different handwash dispenser and hand towel for her to use.
Light switches and door handles bleached too, Just kitchen and living room left but she’s barely been in there for that last 2 days and I need to get her sheets on a boil wash.
I know how to live it up on Saturday night!

DD is confirmed positive for Covid. No idea if it’s the new variant or what we need to do now. I can work from home and will order some PCR tests too.

Thank you @savingholmes and @beanielou, DD is much better and managing to eat. We are also isolating too, DD has the new variant.
Work is crazy busy as several people from my department are on holiday and we seem to have quite a few cases of covid now as well as other absences.
It also seems that my department head does not stop working and I’ve seen emails they have sent at 8:30pm. I have not replied and will do that tomorrow.
So very tired now from the weekend spent worrying at the hospital and now having 10 days stuck inside working from home on too of hoping we don’t catch Covid from DD.
Not very mse at the moment but must be thankful for the ability to work from home, understand managers, a child in the mend and money for a takeaway meaning no cooking this evening!

We are so grateful she seems to be over the worst. Work is getting pretty bad with several staff going off sick with Covid just yesterday. We had reminded people to test before coming into work but it seems some didn’t listen took tests at work and got positive results 😫. That means frantic emails, notifying close contacts and organising deep cleaning.
I think that we will see this occur every winter, government relaxes rules, people relax or stop following some basic hygiene and an outbreak of a new variant takes hold.
My family and I didn’t relax, kept mask wearing indoors, social distancing and we still have it in our household.
