Hi I had posted another forum about the fact that I believe my spouse may be cheating on me with his "work wife " , down now due to trolls.

I would be interested to know who has heard of a work spouse and if so do you agree or disagree that it is acceptable behaviour. I would like some genuine opinions. No more trolls thank you.

Is what acceptable behaviour? Referring to someone as your 'work wife' or something else?

I have read a similar thread this morning on a different forum and if that was yours, then I don't think your husband would be so open about texting this woman whilst you were sitting there, I think that he would be far more secretive about it.

What exactly does he do that makes you think he might be cheating?
    :p

It doesn't matter whether people think it's acceptable behaviour or if they think it's not acceptable behaviour.

The only thing that matters is if you think it's acceptable behaviour from your partner.
If you don't, you either stick your head in the sand and hope it will blow over (if it is indeed an affair at all) or sit down with your husband to discuss the matter like adults.

    'Work wife'.
    Mistress.
    Shagging partner.

    They are just terms.
It's what is behind the term that your husband applies to the woman who works with him that is important.

Where would it get you if 100% of posters said it was acceptable?
Where would it get you if 100% of posters said it wsn't acceptable?

    Precisely nowhere.

Actually id like to hear more about this work spouse term to see if its more common than I first thought. The post on Americanism is interesting. I am going to speak to my husband again but it is really useful to get peoples views

Its the taking about her and the very little time I do get at weekends he calls her then which is odd as its been the last six months. Like I said im interested to hear who has a work spouse .I personally hate the term and find it disrespectful

Indeed it does - my comment wasn't derogatory, just explaining where the term came from.

As I said on the other thread, I know people who use the term for their gym and running partners.

It's not a new thing at all. It's just that someone's invented a term for it. I've known quite a few over the years (and before 1987).

In terms of your husband Emily Pollycat has it right. It's how you feel.

And, as a bloke, there is no way I'd be texting someone I was having an affair with in front of my partner.

I've only heard the term 'work wife' (and 'work husband') on the sitcom King of Queens.

But then, I haven't really worked with other people in a long, long time so perhaps not the best person to be chiming in.
She would always like to say,
Why change the past when you can own this day?
