I know someone who runs one of those "cash Convertor" type stores , they won't touch these with a bargepole for the same reason, they rate them as having no value

  • If you want to get out of your contract. E-Mail their CEO kevin.russell<a>three.co.uk .You will get a response from his Executive Office in Glasgow ,they are normally very helpful.

I have 3 more months of contract (£25.month) and it's unusable. It should be not fit for purpose!!!
tried the speed test: I have about 180kbs download and 50 upload ! And it's 2 o'clock at night, not peak time. At peak time I get the: this page cannot be displayed ... and can't use it for nothing (not email or reading the forum)

I tried calling them to complain a couple a times, was kept on the phone 30-40 minutes (paying for it) everytime with tech support in India (clear you cookies, clear your browser history.... like this is supose to make their poor service go better)

I cannot cancel or nothing, it's the worst money I ever spent!

I have had Three Mobile broadband for 2 months now and had nothing but problems with disconnections on my Vista laptop. Speeds were dreadfull when I did get connected. I contacted technical support and was told that there were problems with Vista and I should try the modem with XP which worked. I was also told that average speeds would be about 256K download.

I re-built my laptop with XP and the modem now stays connected but, as advised, the average speed is circa 256K even in "High Speed" cells! I need the mobile braodband as I work away from home all week and I have had to bite the bullet but I am not happy. Luckily I only have a 12 month contract but Three are still telling customers in their shops that speeds "will" be 2.8Mbs in high speed cells. They are providing a service which is "not fit for purpose" in my opinion.

I took 3 broadband in the interim period as I was switching to o2 from Bulldog. I was using my phone as a modem. They gave me a good deal as I was one of their loyal customers. I was told that I could get speeds upto 2.2mbps, whereas I could hardly open any webpage. The so-called 'broadband' would freeze at times and would not load any pages. Basically, it was an absolute waste of money! I am cancelling it as I have got my o2 broadband now!

Although it can be a bit of a pain I have found that by disconnecting and reconnecting (possible more than once) a better speed can usually be achieved.

I just did this and used https://www.speedtest.net to view results and from a download speed of 188kb/s I then got 1470kb/s

I have had no problems with 3 for 12 months and I have just renewed my contract for another 18 months. I have just done a speed test and these are my results:

The download speed is good but upload is rubbish but I am not bothered about the upload speed.
  • I use mine all over the country and I find the speed varies dramatically and generally has nothing to do with the signal strength - for instance at my caravan I dont even get one bar of signal but it compares well with my (albeit rubbish) Karoo broadband at home - Whereas one night in Retford I had full strength signal but could do very little on line - I think it is to do with the number of people using that cell at that time - they call the service "contended" which basically means everyone using the service in that cell shares the speed (I think) - does anyone know if i can use my 3 dongle in Spain or Holland with a "local" sim card? Three charge an enourmous £6 per mb for roaming unless it's in one of thier "Like Home" networks
  • Anyone got any experiance of mobile broadband as i am thinking of going on three for 15 per month

Dont have a landline in my house as this would cost be 11.50 so didnt see the point.

Usually download music, would 5gb be sufficent?

    Thanks

I have 3 broadband, with the 5gb limit, as just like you have no land line...
generally works ok, has moments when i lose all reception!!!! very frustrating, and its not nearly as fast my brothers plug in the wall internet....
generally does the job, couldnt tell you if 5gb is sufficiant for downloading as all i do is surf..
    hope thats helpful
