When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money:

Morning
Hope everyone had a great weekend x
I had a lovely time away with a gaggle of women, it was cold glamping but so much fun! It was a little less expensive than I had thought it would be
Today:
* catching bus as oh using car
* hoping one of my colleagues will be ok giving me a lift to work Tues & Weds....
* take lunch & snacks
* take phones to charge
* post mobile phone to sell - it's finally in envelop and ready to go
* meeting a colleague for a coffee and a catch up before work - we have a late start today so will pick up a few bits in waitrose as I'm there anyway and then get a free coffee
* quick bath in a minute
* making madam's world book day outfit tonight
* get gammon out of freezer to make tomorrow's dinner
Ok that'll do. Better go get in the bath!DF as at 30/12/16

Morning all
Thanks to DNMS for starting us off. Love to all the lurgy sufferers.
Played tech support last night to OH who was trying to record MIDI strings onto a track. The poor chap is not terribly computer literate, whereas I'm usually pretty good with software - even unknown software. Managed to get it all sorted for him and got a nice back rub in thanks

- Charge phone in work - done
- Keep setting phone to offtime - done

Post ebay parcel and have some RM survey items to post.
Must go to the supermarket, top up on cat food.

Morning all

Thanks for the start DNMS. Glamping sounds freeezing tbh
Hope all poorlies are better this week
So far today I have:
HM cooked fruit from freezer for breakfast instead of bought fresh fruit
Used water heated on wood stove last night (we only have it alight in the evenings) and kept in flasks overnight for this morning's washing up
Curried parsnip soup cooking ready for lunch. It will be done in a minute, so all that will need doing at lunchtime is to blitz it with the stick blender, check seasoning and add a couple of tablespoonsful of cream
Done, some left over, and I probably have enough of several types of soup in the fridge to not have to make any tomorrow :T
Go to sales unit to restock / tidy later this morning Done, 2 items sold straight away :T
RM survey things to post - also a couple of ebay sales to prepare, but they can wait till tomorrow for posting (RM surveys stuff can go in the post box across the road instead of the post office in town) RM surveys stuff done, ebay parcels ready for posting tomorrow
A load of washing Not done, wasn't a full load
Some housework Done - vacuumed middle floor main bedroom / bathroom / landing
Still too cold for gardening I think
I did go out and water some strawberries and thyme plants I planted the other day, as there is such a horrible drying wind
Plenty of gammon cooked yesterday for dinner
Done, still some left
Minimal heating, but I will be lighting the stove as soon as it starts getting dark! Done, toasty now
Annoyed with onepoll today, I got nearly to the end of 2 surveys before being screened out  They don't normally do that. Was annoyed and left the site without attempting any others.
Managed to get 3 carrier bags full of useful packaging materials from a freecycler, bubble wrap, padded envelopes and polystyrene chips things - v. useful for me as I often sell vintage china and glass items on ebay :T
Didn't spend anything today :j:j:T:T:A:A

Welcome back, NewlyFrugal.....we love everyone on here.....regulars, newbies, returners, so do feel welcome x
Morning all, Well, the snow is coming down & Cat is seeing how long he can cross his legs for, before having to venture out through the cat flap.
Ziggy - So glad to hear you think your lergy is turning a corner. I haven't been able to go out for a walk yet.....missed the snowdrops yesterday as just felt too rotten to go, but I am sure I'm feeling a bit brighter this morning......having said that, I have just had an enormous coughing fit, where I was actually doubled up, holding onto the piano for support! When the coughing starts, you just don't think it will ever stop. Still having to sleep completely upright & get whatever zzzzzzs I can manage. Anyway, enough of my plague....just a short list today:
*Updated grocery budget in readiness for my Big Budget Day tomorrow. We underspent Feb's grocery budget by £4.50.
*Put the cheap load of laundry I did overnight on the heated airer to dry.....it will provde some much needed heat in the conservatory during this cold snap. Did another 30 mins at 30 degrees quickie wash so as to make best use of the electricity already being used by the airer.
*Took a couple of 'Use-it-up' things out of freezer to use with tonight's dinner.
*Make tomorrow's packed lunch.
*Paid 2 more 50ps into my sealed pot.
*Entered a prize draw.
*Did a few Onepoll surveys - there is a £1 one knocking around this morning. Also one for Prolific Academic - I'm on £26 for Onepoll at the moment, £33 for PA & £46 on Ugov.
*Read instructions for a product test I'm doing at the moment. Received a big bottle of a product-type I don't usually use, so will be interested to see if it is any good.
*Sew up jumper - I got all the knitting finished yesterday, but didn't have time to do the sewing up properly before bedtime & didn't want to rush it, so I will definitely do that today.
*Stay warm - Have turned 2 upstairs storage heaters up a notch while it's so cold, No downstairs heating on yet, but I won't be silly about this if I find I'm very cold. I'm wearing 2 pairs of socks, 2 tops & my massive ancient Peruvian cardi, & not much cold is penetrating that yet! I find lots of layers plus a hot water bottle tucked up in the small of my back is fab for keeping warm in cold weather.
We are on about Snow Shower no. 10 here, so far today, but nothing more than an icing sugar layer has settled yet. The worst of the snow here is supposed to start tomorrow.
Stay warm all, hope poorly people continue to improve. Take care of the tonsillitis, Ally. I thought that's what I'd got, actually, as had a few days of an absolute razorblade throat with no real coldy symptoms but then it all suddenly turned into this bloody awful Cough Lergy which is apparently sweeping the country - so if your awful throat suddenly stops hurting, but just feels swollen & turns into the cough from hell......you can consider yourself another plague victim.
