What do people think about the Broadband Standard with Home Phone package?

Had posted this on another forum earlier....

Am thinking of setting up for a new place with the PO. Their top option ('Extra') looks for the best option for me.
Has anyone else used the PO for BB? Anything good/bad to say about them?
I don't know yet if the phone line is working so I know that would be an extra cost for installation. They also state no minimum contract (surely that can't be right?). I did find out it would take about 2 weeks to set up.

Its BT,s Broadband/Phone Service rebranded.( White label managed service from BT Wholesale).

Their is no minimum contract for the Landline only,if you take PO Broadband its a 12 month contract.

If the landline needs re-connecting at some point between exchange and your residence they normaly charge a £110 connection fee. If its just been stopped and full wiring is in place re-connection is normally free.

You should be able to use another BB supplier if you opt for phone only

I am thinking of getting the Home Phone with Broadband Extra from Post Office at £ 24.95 ( link here ) I am i right in thinking this is a BT product just re branded as Post Office ? If so what is the equivalent BT broadband package to the P/O Broadband Extra?

I like the fact you get free calls to mobiles at the weekend.

Will 18185 still work with P/O telephone?

Is anybody on this package if so is it any good?

It is BT re-branded and if you take the Broadband you are subject to a 12 month contract.Only the Phone part is free of contract.

when you say indirect, do you mean by calling their freephone number 0808 1 703 703 instead of 18185

as anyone got post office broadband?

A friend of mine has had the bb for the past year which I set up for them, fairly easy and the help line is based in Ireland and actually very helpful. She already had the phone element.

At the time she got it you had to pay extra monthly for a wireless router so she went for the basic modem and we bought a wireless router at a later stage. Their modem and wireless router come pre-programmed so we had a bit of bother sorting out the settings for the wireless router but got it sorted fairly easily.
