Quick question. Now that I have my halifax reward account setup, can I now open a bank of scotland with vantage account to gt the 2% interest ? I presume thwt you can have halifax and bos branded accounts at the same time?

Yes, but you didn't have to wait!

You'll probably find both accounts show up on both bank's online area. At least mine do.

The Halifax switching team, based in Scotland, have been closed yesterday and today because of the weather. So anyone whose switch is due to complete at this time may find it, or part of it, being delayed. They should be working tomorrow but there's perhaps a backlog to catch up with.

I discovered this when trying to enquire about my switch, the DDs have transferred over but the origin account (Yorkshire 'B') is still open with its balance intact. I think it's understandable and nothing to worry about, just a delay, the incentive already paid.

Forgive me if this is a silly question but I!!!8217;m a bit tired and my brain is not functioning well!
Does it have to be a Reward account that you switch to ( as opposed to a current account) in order to get the £125? Then once you!!!8217;ve done that if you pay in £750 every month, have 3 different outgoing DDs & keep it in credit, you then get a further £3 per month?

You need to switch to the Reward Current Account or an Ultimate Reward Current Account (which charges a £15 p/m fee ).

You don't have to have any DDs or pay in a regular sum, unless you want the £3 p/m reward, in which case you would need to pay in £750 p/m have 2 DDs going out each month, and remain in credit.

Apologise if my question frustrates anyone who has prior answered however Im not quite clear About my own scenario.

I opened a. Halifax account April 2013 . It was not a switch , it was a reward account new opening and I get 3 pound a month now.

I have a m and s bank account I pretty sure I can switch to Halifax.

Reading the threads I can get the 125 switching fee but am I switching it to my current reward account or opening a new Halifax account ?

Guessing I cannot get the 3 pound reward twice on two separate accounts ?

    Thank you

If you spend a few minutes reading the incentive T&Cs you'll see that you can switch into your existing Reward account.

Looking at this thread here on MSE (from nearly eight years ago, granted) it'd appear you're unlikely to be able to have two Reward Current Accounts running concurrently:

M&S Bank are part of the Current Account Switching Scheme; if/when you decide to switch the link to transfer to your existing Halifax account can be found here:

It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.
