Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere...

I already have a Reward account which I've had for a number of years and haven't received a "switching" bonus for it.

Would I be eligible for the current bonus if I were to switch a Natwest account into my Reward account?

    Thanks!

Yes, switches into existing accounts are eligible. Taken from: https://www.halifax.co.uk/bankaccounts/

"Use the 'Current Account Switch Service' to switch into an open new or existing Reward Current Account"

It's too late to apply for the NatWest offer. The deadline for applications to receive the switching bonus was Friday 16th February 2018. They posted their question on 17th, and you replied on 18th.

OK maybe I'm not such a daft old badger as I thought;)

Deadline may not have passed. foofi22 already has a NatWest account. If it is one of the qualifying accounts, he/she still has until 16 March to switch into it and fund it:)
  • Hello...new to this...but keen to switch to Halifax for the offer. I have just opened a Santander Everyday current account, which I intend to switch to Halifax.
Question: do I need to wait for the debit card to come through before I switch, or can I switch without knowing my 'long number'?!

    Thank you for any help.

I was told incorrectly in my local Halifax that I couldn't switch without a debit card and was advised to contact Santander to order one.

I phoned Halifax who successfully completed the switch for me without me having a debit card.

So no, I can confirm you do not need a debit card, despite what branch staff may tell you.

If the account you are switching doesn't have a debit card, you do not have to obtain one in order to switch. There is usually a question on the switch application relating to this.

However, if the account you are switching does have a debit card, then you will be required to supply the card number. So, OP, wait until it arrives.
  • Thanks..if I am going to get HSBC and Halifax both done before the closing dates, I'll have to get my skates on!
