  • I'm sorry you are having a bad time sneak. I don't have much additional help to offer other than what people have already suggested but you will feel less alone if you get together with other people to try and deal with your problem. I also have trouble sleeping sometimes and I find that nytol (over the counter at chemists helps me to sleep). I have to take double the amount recommended on the packet though which probably isn't strictly speaking recommended but because they are over the counter they are not a knock you out type they just make you dozy you still wake up if a fire alarm goes off or the phone rings etc.

    Good luck

It was weed that got me smoking tabs, as a matter of fact, which took me bloody years to quit and cost me £1,000's

Try going a couple of days without it sneak. Don't make any rash personal promises to quit it completely. Just a couple of days to see if the world looks any better with a clean head.

Been off it for a long time now, (except for a quick puff at a party last week) and it's surprising how quickly you'll learn to live without it. That 'quick puff' at the party destroyed me, and I had to get my missus to take me home.

You don't need it mate, trust me.

  • Just to echo what everyone else has said, your problem isn't the money, it's a symptom of the drugs use. You'll only sort out the money issues when the drugs stuff is sorted out and then every penny you have can be your own. You've recognised you have a problem - which is more than most! - so speak to a drugs counsellor or something who can make sure that you're trying to give up in the right way possible (you won't have to go through your GP so it won't have to be on your medical records at all) and then sorting the cash out will be a whole lot easier (thereby making you less likely to need to smoke cannabis!). Only you know how much you want to give up.
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!
  • Just to echo the above advice- Deal with the drugs, deal with the issues underlying the drugs THEN adress the money.

Talk to FRANK is ACE. There is a lot of money going into drug work via th NHS and the stigma is very much less. Just be aware that most resources at GP level are around heroin abuse so you might have to dig harder and spread your net wider than that, don't take "we can't offer support for cannabis users" as a personal comment from your GP. Sadly that is how it is.

Meantime, work out how you are going to stop yourself getting into more debt- can you hand over your cash to your Mum- part to pay your debt to her, and the rest so she can give you an "allowance" each week. The alternative is, I'm sure that it'll al go in a puff of smoke, literally in the first few days.

re settling your debts- people might have better reasons than me for sheduling things differently, BUT I'd say pay off the samall debts to your family forst and the bank later. Why- well TBH the bank can stand the debt better than your family likely can and by settling the debts with family they wil be 100% behind you through this tough time.

i wish you well with your situation. From my personal experience ( ex-police) drugs are the road to ruin. You know that already and you have admitted you have a problem which is the first step to sorting yourself out.

i echo everyones advice get professional help. GP's are well used to helping with this sort of thing these days and don't be ashamed of talking to your doc.

Please tell your girlfriend if she finds out ( and she will) and you haven't told her how do you think she will react. She can help and support you.

I know you will get a great deal of support here but perhaps there is a similar site that deals speciffically with your problem where people who have been there and done it will be able to offer support.

You know you can do it so keep on track
