Thanks Grogged and MF. A DF party sounds nice. Is that a code word for spendathon? Definitely want to upgrade home and allow more spends for days out and short breaks once DF.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Reclaimed £30 for DD's glasses today. Hopefully will be paid into my account within around a week. I had to ring school for DD today to ask them to clarify exam arrangements. Have agreed she can have an extra couple of tutoring sessions to help her get her head around stuff (£35 each). Need to try and get DD some contact lenses before her 18th... Trying to get her on a Driving Instructor waiting list too.
DH couldn't get his car to start yesterday - hoping it is just a flat battery. Need to jump start it on a day he can go for a long drive. Worst case do have at home cover.
Feeling stressed currently. Concerns re DD future I think and the long period at home. DH is unwell but refuses to go to the doctor. Desperate for time outside these for walls - looking forward to booking somewhere away for just me and DH overnight...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Sorry you're feeling stressed. I think there's a light at the end of the tunnel with regards to the virus now, so hopefully we can start getting some sense of normality back, and plan for the future with more certainty. Have you looked at anywhere in particular for your night away? It's good to have something to look forward to.6

It's usually battery or alternator, refurb alternators are reasonably priced and quick to do.
Most Dr appointments are by phone, like a triage service. How are his blood sugars and eating routine.
Can you go for a bit of a drive the weekend, still within your county, but to see something different. Even if it's a different park, you're out.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.5 -
Hopefully not too much longer before we can get a bit more normality. Fingers crossed a jump start will sort the car too"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee4

Just struggling with day job this week as just feel super tired. Just two more weeks to go - then have some time off over Easter. Picking DD up from school is also making it harder to fit my work hours in. On top of that she is stressing re video interviews and all sorts for apprenticeship and wants support which adds to my mental load. She's just told me some of the deadlines for some other apprenticeships are coming up... Can I run and hide???
I think the financial target I've set myself this month is probably on the tight side - unless DH gets a lot of overtime £. He's not sure how much he'll get and his payslip isn't up yet.

Can DS or DH help with DD, reduce your load a bit.
If you achieve 50% of target this month, that's a positive.

DD only wants me when she's struggling.. DH did take and drop her off today. I used noise cancelling headphones and music on repeat today to get into work zone and that helped. Had a nice chat with a work colleague today who came and dropped something off. Just counting down until Easter now.
Trying to promote my book on FB and Insta ready for free downloads starting Saturday. Need to continue writing book 2. Only written a few hundred words this week - kind of more backstory than main story - but I'm sure it will help.
DH gets paid tomorrow and then another CC will bite the dust. He will get £182 more than normal (net) which will be a big help with my/our DF goals. As soon as we're allowed, DH and I want to go away overnight even if it is just for a weekend - by ourselves... Bliss. It may delay DF day by a month though but would be worth it. I did start looking yesterday but wouldn't want to book yet given how things changed so rapidly last year. Food order comes tonight - that will be nice too.
Hope you're all doing well.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Our plans also involve just one night away by ourselves. The silver lining of all these home deliveries and the eldest child turning 18 rather than 18 months is that I have a cat sitter and actually have clubcard vouchers for once, and plan to use them for a night in Bath, pretending to be part of Jane Austen/Georgette Heyer. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese
