Thanks MF, Jwil and OhSh - On the reading front - it is one of the few things that keep me sane, that and writing or crafting. Ohsh - impressive degree and 2 post grads! I can't wait for the debt to be gone. It's in sight now at least.
Dentist has changed my appointment to tomorrow morning from the afternoon. I've been tired this week despite having Monday off - combination of conference and vaccine. Slight sore throat today - don't know if that's the vaccine or allergies. DH has been really tired and a bit snuffly. I wrote a few hundred words yesterday on thoughts for next bit of novel - but not got the energy to write it.
Had to pick DD up from school three times this week - which is making it harder to do my day job as they've all been random times. Not for much longer. Really hope DD overcomes her fears and learns to drive - and soon!! One of the first things we're setting money aside for once debt free.
DS found a £50K job to apply for - but then looked up what employees and ex-employees said about it. It wasn't pretty. He certainly aims high though...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

All you can do is keep encouraging DD, maybe when she's older driving might be more appealing, perhaps getting her an experience day, or maybe a scooter is more suitable, depending on how she's getting on with her bike.
Nothing wrong in aiming high, someone has to be offered the job, why not DS 😃
Hope you feel better in the morning.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.5 -
Submitted a short story that I wrote tonight - connected to Vashtin - part of my supporting cast for the main character. 1900 words. I am sure I will find a way to use it in my book or as a reader's bonus or future blog postAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Off to dentist very shortly. £96 went out to target CC - slightly less than I expected - but I'll wrap up the difference at payday on Monday. This month I've spent over £570 at Mr As on food. More than I planned - and feels particularly bad given it was a short month. Still need to work on this. Let's hope as lockdown lifts the focus shifts away from eating. My fuel bill was virtually non-existent this month which helped balance the books. I still have almost half a tank of fuel left. I'd best get cracking...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Feeling very fortunate as £co gave me over £112 of cashback this month... I of course converted it to Am**** vouchers.
DD is doing well so far on the apprenticeship application process for the one she(we) applied for the other day - she got through to the first test - which she passed - now she's through to a video interview. Let's hope she keeps passing. Although she'd need a car if she got it or to rent a room nearby. I think there were due to be 6 stages!!
I have struggled with work this week - I think because of the overwhelm of last weekend's conference - despite having Monday off. Hopefully next week will be better. I was very relieved though to end my work week on a high as a problem I've been worrying about for a while looks like it is about to be resolved. Hoping to get some writing done this weekend and also to walk our poor dog as it's been raining off and on for days and she's barely been out (so neither have we!).
DH is finally getting his flu jab on Monday. He went today but they turned him away as too close to his covid jab.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

well done on the cashback - my OH is now booked in for her jab, so that will be a relief. she had a paid for flu jab earlier - just lucky was browsing her email when the notification came in that there some available at botts the chemist, and got the last slot about 30 seconds after the notification arrived
I know that feeling of being drained after a big event/milestone at work - it will pass, you just have to keep trundling on, and maybe do a few easier days and focus on finding your next project or even thinking about your own side hustlesI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

Thanks Mark, Jwil and DIA.
Today I got up at noon and spent most of the afternoon on a freedom song... linked to last week's conference. I enjoyed it but the day flew by. I may briefly get dressed soon to give pooch a walk...
Made brined chicken with roasties for tea. DS peeled potatoes.
My salary is showing in my bank account... Tempted to start moving it around and paying things off.
