So DH has seen the light at the end of the tunnel, that's great!
Try and get some rest, maybe put some warmth on your arm and see if that helps.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.4 -
Thanks Mark and MF.
Double naproxen did the trick. Almost back to normal today. I have today off which I am very grateful for. Been vocal about international women's day - and choosing to challenge on my social media feed. Trust I won't get a backlash from that.
£ wise things are challenging for DS. While it was good that DS did more hours last month - they have cashflow issues and haven't paid him yet. One step forward two back. I'm hoping it concentrates his mind that he needs to seek out other work but ball is in his court. He pre-anticipated getting the £ though and started spending.... not yet learned.
It's almost end of month for us - a week until my payday:
Financial progress this month
Topped up EF c£400 to take it back over £1K
Paid £2768 this pay period so far
Another £114 to pay on Friday - taking it to £2882 debt reduction this pay period
This is despite unplanned purchases:
£84 Microwave
£66 New lights (essential stopped working in ensuite completely - special waterproof rated ones)
£20 Security software for DH
£55 Meal replacements - DH (one week before payday - rolls eyes)
£24 Web Cam - Me (if make enough royalties will recharge to business at some point)
Giving each other an extra £50 each pocket money and spending a fortune on takeaways!
Made possible by lockdown (and shielding) savings on: fuel, cleaner, gym, days out, meals out etc. Blessed.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Very impressive reduction and your spends are not that high for what you've picked up.
Hopefully DS will soon learn.
I'm pleased the extra tablets helped.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.5 -
Thanks Lucielle and MF. Back to work with a bump today. Grateful I am still allowed to work from home.
DS had a hospital procedure today - good that they are catching up on routine medical appointments...
I'm currently trying to recommit to healthy eating... not quite there yet - but did have healthy porridge and a home made veg soup today. Still debating tea...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Still fighting to stay on track money wise. Bought MIL and my mum small presents via Am**** today so they have something for mother's day. Unusually for me - I've been organised and we posted their cards yesterday while waking the dog as I know the post is a bit hit and miss at the moment. There was just about enough in the account to buy MIL's pressie so had to use my personal spends for my Mum. Pay day Monday... Exciting. If it is like last time - it will show up in my account Saturday... even better. I'm not going to tell DH how much I plan to repay this next month as it would fry his brain. Hopefully that way I won't get derailed / tempted off course.

I am at the dentist for a check up Friday - I've been having some pain although it seems to have settled again now. Hopefully he'll be able to spot if there's a problem. I'm hoping it was a blip. My vaccination arm is still tender to the touch ie particularly while trying to get to sleep. Makes me even more grateful to have had that and not the real thing.
DS has started exploring graduate schemes and traditional roles. Now we've been vaccinated I'm less worried about him going out to work - especially - as we should have some immunity within a couple more weeks and it is unlikely he'll get anything that quickly. DD has got through to the first round for the apprenticeship we applied for at the weekend. School pressures are already mounting up though... Will be interesting to see what the next few months bring.
I am potentially putting my book back on free for a couple of days the weekend after next - so if any regular MSE posters haven't got it yet and are interested - please let me know. I'm at 11 x 5 star ratings now. Thanks again to those who not only downloaded it but read and reviewed it. It really does make a difference.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I don't blame you for not telling DH, sometimes keeping quiet makes it easier to get on with and achieve the goal.
Seeing your current balance is unreal, to me it doesn't seem that long ago you started making serious indents to clear it all.
There's nothing stopping DS doing his S/E work, together with a PAYE role, provided they don't overlap with type / clients.
Fingers crossed for DD.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.4 -
Making fab progress on the writing and finances!
I admit to being a non reader..... I find it very hard to sit still and read. During the day, there'd be constant interruptions. And in the evening, I'd rather watch a film or TV show. I also have the readly app and will read loads of magazines on there... easy to pick up and put down.
I reckon I've probably only read 15-20 books in the last 17 years since I've had children.... fluffy books like Bridget Jones and 50 shades! Shocking really.
In my defence, I have done a degree and 2 postgrads in the same timeframe, so I'm not a complete neanderthal
Before lockdown, I had to go to London by train a few days a month, I'd read a few books then as was a good time wasterDFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)
