Thanks MF. I got up today wanting to resolve my ppi tax reclaim - only to find that the bank statements I need to show what interest I was paid in certain years was unavailable. So I'm going to have to ring up and request it. Frustrating. I've done some book marketing today - set up a free promo for next weekend and started publicising it. I now need to continue writing book 2.
Not done well on the Mother's Day front. DD forgot to go and buy flowers. DH didn't sleep all night so despite promising to do the washing has now gone to bed instead. DS's present should have arrived today but hasn't yet. Still lucky though and grateful for all the blessings we do have. Looking forward to finding out DH's pay this month - as he should get some overtime and his pay rise. It all helps.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I asked my accountant to include my tax reclaim on my PPI payment - pretty certain he hasn't done it. Not sure I can be bothered to chase it up really. I know I gave him the paperwork regarding it, but in life, you have to choose your battles and this for me is not one of them. Sorry to hear your Mothers Day hasn't gone swimmingly so far, but as you say, you don't need someone to designate a particular day for your family to recognise your importance in their lives. What I do not give, you must never take by force.

channel your frustration into your novel by creating a scene in which a character's fate is sealed by taking something very important for granted - I am sure that would be uncomfortably relatable for your readers, whichever side (or both) of the mum/child divide they fall uponI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

Enjoy paying down the debt tomorrow. Sorry about the less than idyllic Mother's Day. There's so much hype about these types of days - you know that your family love you every day . How about treating yourself this evening?

Sorry about your disappointing Mother's Day. I echo the others. Annoyingly neither the card nor the flowers I sent/ordered my Mum have arrived, despite sending the card 1st class at the start of the week, and scheduling the flower delivery for yesterday (ordered a week ago)."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do".
