Enjoy your day at the garden centre tomorrow.
Talking of what people carry around in bags, one of my BFs is very glamorous and always takes tons of make up, hair products away with her on holiday. Some years ago we were at the airport waiting to fly out on holiday and when we were going through security with our hand luggage said Glamorous Friend had a diamond shaped make up mirror on a stand in hers which must have looked weird going though the x-ray machine and so they pulled the bag. The security guy opened the bag and took out the mirror - he looked like Mary Poppins taking out the coat stand from her carpet bag!  He stood staring at it and I quipped that it was my friend's weapon of mass destruction!  He turned to me and said in all seriousness' I thought it was an award!'🤣

All this talk of handbags has made me realise I have a load of screwed up receipts in the bottom of mine that need a good sort out.

Well I do carry a lot in mine, but never a mirror on a stand (or an award) 😃.
I feel worried without a good book and a snack in there just in case MrWW decides to do something boring and time consuming 😬

I hope your queasiness has passed OBL.
Going back to the books, I downloaded 'Audrey Wilde' via one of Amazon Kindle's 99p offers some time ago and it's banked up ready for me to read. I'll be interested to hear what you think of it.
Your mum sounds like what my mum used to be with her own heavy bag!  I always wonder what the Queen has in hers as well as she always seems to carry a reasonably big handbag!
Seaside, we used to wonder the same when I was a girl.  My dad always swore that she kept ferrets in there; any bag like that with a handle over the arm is still known as a ferret-bag! Love Humdinger x

Just chipping in to say that I am nowhere near my 70s & my handbag also contains everything but the kitchen sink. My friend once peered into my bag & said "You're short of nothing you've brought with you". But I am often the person who can provide a handy screwdriver, loo roll or choice of 3 sizes of safety pin!

Yep mum normally has safety pins and a screwdriver in hers too 🙄😂

I’ve got a friend in her 70s whose handbag is like your mum’s. She carries her whole life around with her. I’m like you and just take what I need for the day.

Well done on getting all that painting done. Enjoy your trip to the garden centre tomorrow.
I can't stand a cluttered handbag,I clear mine out every time I use it 😊

Enjoy your time out with your friend on Friday, I am off to a garden centre as well that sells lots of things and having lunch. It is lovely to be able to get out.
Great to hear you have started the painting and good progress made .
Lemon puffs were my favourite biscuits also.
I hope you had a nice time at your garden centre,I've really started something by mentioning lemon puffs 😀

I am in my seventies & I a few years ago I used to carry everything but the kitchen sink.  I now have a "shopping" coat.  It has a good few pockets.  One for cards, one for phone, one for cash in case the cards don't work, one for a mask & don't forget the shopping list.  The only thing I actually carry is a roll of carrier bags.  It is so freeing.  I'm sure that the handbag thing for me was a bit like a security blanket!
I don't keep anything in my pockets either, it really annoys me if they have stuff in them 😀

Noooo screwed up receipts set my teeth on edge,I have to fold them in my purse and if I don't need them they go in the shredder when I get home. I actually don't take a receipt if it's definitely  something I won't need to return 😊
