I have checked my state pension and will get a full one which I was expecting as I’ve been working since just before my 16th birthday, only took statutory maternity leave and have always paid full NI stamp. I’ve also got a pension from a previous employer that’s been frozen for years, although it won’t bring in much a month, it might cover the tax.

Pensions are a minefield. I’ve had my lump sum through form my early retirement but waiting for the monthly payments to come through to see exactly what will be coming in each month….

Morning, happy Thursday and payday eve for me.

The cat has been sleeping in between the headboard and my pillow all night, I was trying hard not to set off her very loud purring that starts up the minute I move. The dog spent the night with DD, it seemed strange not having her on the bed. The dog is now fast asleep on the dining room sofa.

The Oddbox fruit and veg boxes are in my area now so have ordered my first box, not being delivered until next Saturday though. They sent me a voucher for first one half price so it was £6.49 instead of £12.99, that's for a small box 7 veg and 3 fruit, there are bigger ones. Noticed you can get just veg ones which might be better for me as I don't eat that much fruit but I do eat loads of veg. I've set it for weekly but this can be changed to less frequently and you can skip a week when you need to. I'll see what it's like anyway.

Going to Lidl later, I have a £2 voucher to spend and should hit the £200 spend in a month mark to get the £10 off voucher today.

I have another one of the BBC Good Food magazine live wine tasting events tonight, they're cooking things from the magazine so it should be interesting. There's also a WW live cook along making cakes in an airfryer so plan to watch that too. So it's a bit of a live cooking night for me tonight.

    Have a good one.

  • Aww it’s hard when the pets abandon you….like you love the extra space, but why don’t they love you any more ☹️🤣 if dog isn’t under my feet in my office I’m quite offended, but generally it’s because MrWW is eating and then she comes back 😁

I recently started using Oddbx and am very impressed. Priced it against Sainsbobs and was a few pence cheaper. As it is free delivery, it's a bargain. Veg keeps very well and they put a leaflet in re storage and what needs using up first.

Thanks for that. I’ve used a local veg box company recently and they were great but a bit more expensive. I also used to have the organic veg boxes a few years ago but they were expensive and very repetitive, I got sick of the sight of beetroot. I like the idea of not knowing what’s in the box although you can find out a few days before if you wish.
