evebeme, I had someone round for a quote for the cavity walls and they said it can’t be done, not the right type of walls.

So now Jet2 not flying to the islands until 16 August which is cutting it fine as we fly on the 20th. If they cancel thinking about changing to Greece, been a few times but not in recent years. 

Went for a run first thing before it got too hot, was alarmed to see police tape at the end of my road where the incident was. He’s still on the run and is 25 not a teenager as previously reported. Warning people not to approach and dial 999 if seen. This morning 8 policemen got out of cars and ran on the park across the road from me but they came back 5 minutes later laughing. Must’ve been a false sighting. Keep seeing police about in the area so they’re still looking. 

Been sitting in the hot sun all day reading my book and relaxing 😎 NSD #2 of August too.

That's really quite scary. Be careful.

Our house was the wrong kind too, We rent but there are owner occupiers here as well. Apparently the solution was to insulate the outside and re-render it and they got a grant. I'm in Scotland though so might not apply to you. It certainly makes a difference to the heating bills.

Hope you get something sorted out with your holiday. I hate all this uncertainty but not a lot we can do.

Just been asked to check in for my Ibiza holiday by Jet2. I’d love it still be going ahead but not holding my breath. I’m glad I’ve got a plan B just in case. Would probably be Kalamaki in Zante as we’ve been there before and it would be suitable for a scooter. Got to take this into consideration.

Forgot to say my lemon tree has finally produced some tiny lemons and my olive tree has 100s of very tiny olives. This is thanks to the mild winter we had. The marguerite also survived the winter and is flourishing 😁

I had hopes for the grant thing too, but solid stone walls are hard to cavity insulate.  Can't do any of the part 1  qualifying things, so not eligible for the part 2 door replacements.  I can only see it benefiting someone who is renovating a very neglected old property.
Glad you have a Plan B idea.

The police have been out in full force again on my road looking for the bloke who attacked his parents with a hammer. They seem to think he’s still somewhere in the vicinity.  They are so many ideal places to hide round here, lots of long gardens, parks and banks covered in trees. It’s quite frightening to be honest. The last I heard one parent is out of intensive care. How awful to come round to the fact your son tried to kill you. 

Lovely day here today, not quite as hot as yesterday but still very warm. Not planning on doing a lot just relaxing.

Red hot right now Beanie. 

I was sitting right at the bottom of my garden earlier reading my book when I heard a rustling noise. It’s really secluded down there and nothing at the back of us bar steep banks and bushes. I shot out of my chair only to find it was him next door looking for something at the side of his shed. Phew 😅 Will be glad when they find this bloke. Needless to say I’m now sitting close to my house.
