I have no desire to go out into the world at all.
I went out today for the first time in three months and it was quite bizarre and scary. I'm glad I did otherwise I think I might have stayed at home for ever but I won't be visiting supermarkets or shopping centres any time soon. And pubs and restaurants are a very long way off.
Can you get free Kindle books, SA?Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.7 -
Yes I can and have got loads I downloaded but not read - I can’t get on with online books much prefer a proper book any day. I have plenty of books on my shelf to read for the foreseeable future I won’t run out, shouldn’t really be buying more to be honest 😁
Have smashed my 12k plus steps target today at 15k - that’s more like it 👍I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)8 -
I’m pleased gdds present has arrived. Worth the delivery cost.
I haven’t ventured into town yet -just my local shops Morrison’s, Aldi or B&M (literally around the corner to me’ oh and I nipped to B& Q and garden centre near closing time when I knew they’d be quiet. I believe there are big queues in my local town (like elsewhere) When I go shopping I’m a real browser so the thought of queuing and not being able to meander as i please doesn’t appeal at all. If I really needed something I suppose I would join the queues....but not just for a saunter. I’ve been told Next has shut in our town too so there’s really not a lot there now. I was trying to find out which John Lewis has shut but couldn’t see a list - just that some were closing. Scary times - I’m still in ostrich mode....and don’t want to think ahead.
Today at work they were talking about booking slots to go to the pub....I’d rather have a glass of something in the garden than a 2 hour pre booked pub session.
Your books from the charity shop sound good - I can’t get over having to book a slot to drop donations off......it’s going to take a long time before normality returns.
Hope Mr SA scooter is back soon.January spends - £587.589 -
@milann they did his scooter in the drive so back straightaway 👍
I’m trying so hard to stay away from anywhere that might be busy. Online shopping is the way forward right now.
So today have checked my booking for Ibiza and it’s still going ahead. I really daren’t hope just yet though, things are changing so quickly. I hate this blooming virus ☹️👎I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -
Has anyone been watching Little Fires Everywhere on Amazon Prime? I’m loving it, Mr SA thinks it’s a woman’s programme, mainly because no one is getting shot. It’s a slow burner, excuse the pun, but very good.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5

I haven’t watched it yet, but I tried the book ages ago and abandoned it half way through...I don’t like to give in, but I found the writing style and content very dull.....however I haven’t written off the series as sometimes they can make them a lot better....how are you liking it? I was trying Traitors on Netflix, but that’s not much cop!Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Morning all, happy Thursday 😎 What a change in weather from last Thursday when I took a day off work to sunbathe. Got soaked going to Mr T Express this morning.
I ordered some sheets in the M&S sale 2 weeks ago and they finally arrived today. Worth waiting for as they were reduced from £19.50 to £9.50 each, king size super soft cool touch extra deep fitted sheets. Hopefully with them being extra deep they won't keep pinging off the mattress - interestingly this only happens on Mr SA's side.

I must admit I prefer a real book as well but I have found the kindle good for taking on holiday where I read even more than when I'm at home.
On line shopping for us here as well. Well, mostly. We went out for the first time in 13 weeks yesterday and it was a bit scary. We avoided the main street but went into a local butchers in a small row of shops. They were taking every safety precaution possible and the quality of the produce is excellent. I'm going to get meat from there (and bread and milk from the baker next door). Other than that it's going to be a delivery from Tesco or Iceland.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.9 -
I think the best thing to do right now is avoid busy places as much as possible. It will be a very long time before I venture into the city centre. Mr SA is totally oblivious to all this and thinks everything will be normal, he keeps saying he needs to go into town. He's also starting to think of things he wants to buy on holiday, I'm trying hard to make him understand that the shops will be very different right now to how they used to be and he won't be able to just wander in and out. I really don't want to spend the holiday going round the shops, all I want to do is relax in the sunshine. I've had an email from Jet2 today asking questions about Mr SA for the special assistance so looks like it's all still going ahead (for now). Someone at work mentioned checking travel insurance if you have an annual policy to see if it covers Covid 19. So I've checked mine and we're covered because I purchased it before April - phew!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7
