Morning 😎
My cat slept in my bedroom all night and looks brighter this morning. She followed me downstairs and actually hung around for food. So she’s eating again and a bit livelier 👍
Insanity class later and must do finances and meal plan. Plus manicure, pedicure and face pack. That’s today’s to do list.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7 -
Thanks to an early start, finances are done. I'm afraid I overspent by £12.33 this week but over the 4 week budget period I had an underspend of £81.89 which I'm quite pleased about. I'd like to beat this amount in the next 4 week budget period which starts tomorrow. Some of this £81.89 went into my VSP so the rounded down amount of £60 has gone into a spends pot. My Regular Saver matures tomorrow so will get the interest and the £3k will go into the current account. I might transfer it into my ISA (emergency fund) as it's earmarked for home improvements for which I haven't even got round to getting quotes for and I rather suspect it won't be enough so it might as well be tucked away earning a bit of interest while I'm procrastinating.
So at the end of the budget 4 week period my various pots are:
Emergency Fund £4500.00/£10,000 - another £50 sent this morning
VSP £410.90/£600 - another £7.67 sent this morning, this is my Christmas pot
Regular Saver £3,000 - maturing tomorrow and new one being set up as this has been a brilliant way to make me save
Holiday savings £750/£1035
Spend pot £60
Credit Card £0 - all paid off
Of course EF could be depleted somewhat if my cat ends up going to the vet, it's never a cheap do. I feel like I'm more in control of my finances right now which is good. I need to start tackling the groceries spending though as it's too high.

I think I'll end up taking the cat to the vets, she's been sleeping all day although is receptive to being stroked. She's still not herself. No idea how this vets visit will pan out as I believe you have to hand your pet over to the vet and wait outside - I don't have a car to wait in. Then there's how I'd get there, I'll need a face mask to take a taxi (our local taxi firm have insisted you wear one) and they're funny about taking pets at the best of times. The only method of transport is to put her box on the scooter with Mr SA and the weather forecast isn't great for next week.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6

Oh dear, I hope it's nothing too serious SA. I'm lucky that I can catch a bus from my road to the road that the vet is on if I need to go with B or the cat, but at the moment would have to wait in the car park. DD has phoned the vet about our cat because he is constipated so they are phoning her on Monday with adviceOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8948

I think a phone consultation with your vet may be the first step, as OBL suggests. Then cross the bridges if they crop up. It's lovely that she's taking more interest in her food.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Took the dog out earlier to get steps up and we got caught in a downpour. Typical that straight after it was sunny. It’s been really windy so managed to get two lots of washing dried.Have done a meal plan for the week using what I have in stock. The Mr M order for Tuesday has been trimmed to what we really need. I’m determined to start spending less now. I’ll need to put in a WW online order this coming week as supplies are running low.Have started another book - The Endless Beach by Jenny Colgan, the sequel to the other one of hers I read a couple of weeks ago and set on a fictional Scottish island. It’s a lovely light read and the chapters are short so easy to dip in and out of. The CS that does the 3 books for 75p is opening again on Wednesday so guess where I’ll be going 😁Payday on Tuesday 🎉💃🥂I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7
