  • Glad you have managed some time to yourself in the house, even if it’s not been quite the alone time you imagined. I know how much it means to get some chill time in the house.

Could Men in sheds make an exception for Mr SA??

  • It may just be a guideline? Mine would go to something like that and come back with ideas for x million more tools that he needed.

He'd go mad if he knew he was going to something meant for over 60s, my life would be hell from the moaning afterwards. To be honest I don't think for one minute he'd go to something like this anyway, he's not a sociable person. He's been offered so many different groups but won't go.

After getting up at 9.30 he's now back in bed. So at least I've got another few hours peace.

Took the dog on the park this morning and the council were just clearing up after the scouts bonfire last night so we were restricted to where we could go. I'll take her out again later. Didn't go to Aldi in the end as Mr SA was saying he wanted to see if they had some of the shoes they were selling in the summer. Tried to make him understand that they wouldn't be doing summer shoes in November to no avail. So in the end decided it was easier not to go. So now the shaver is sorted he wants summer shoes !!!!! He actually needs slippers but says he's too young to be wearing them - really????

Need to sort out a meal plan and budget plan for the week ahead.

While I remember, two things that may raise a smile:

Mr SA has been very slowly extending the patio at a rate of one slab a day. He hasn't made the best job of it and I'm cross with him for not letting me get a gardener in to do it, but at least he's tried. We were just looking at it when the dog ran out and pooped on it! That's what she thought of it!

The second thing is I'd seen a live production of Benidorm advertised at the theatre which I'd love to see as I love watching Benidorm on TV. Ran the idea past Mr SA and his reply was - why would you want to bother to see it live when we have 26 episodes of it on the TiVo box.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry!

Where I work we have a very successful men in sheds and there are loads of men less than age 60. However if Mr SA isn't really up to going no point in trying to make him. Does the tiredness come from his illness SA or just boredom ?

I love the dogs reaction to the patio ! Glad to hear you are going to spend your unexpected money on yourself. Could you do the Benidorm live on one of your day trips with a friend. .

    Enjoy the rest of Sunday.

The Men in Sheds near us is run by Age Concern, probably why they say it's for over 60s. He'd hate going to a group where they're all older than him. The tiredness is down to his condition. I'm going to work on him re Benidorm as I know he'd enjoy it. He resisted the panto a couple of years ago then ended up loving it. This is when I miss my mum as she was a big theatre goer.

Meal and budget plans done for the week ahead :)

I think I might have got conjunctivitis as my eyes have been sore and red for a few days which I put down to being on a computer all day. However, this morning I had to practically prise them open as they were all crusted up :( I've kept my eyes mascara free today and will see how they are in the morning. There's always something!

  • I used to get conjunctivitis a lot as a kid. Horrible! When I’m stressed it always shows in my eyes with a twitch or stye or something. It’s obviously my weak spot!!

Could you not ask any of your friends if they fancy seeing Benidorm at the theatre?

Weren;t you saying you would like to get out more, and go to the theatre more often? Perfect time :)
Buy a ticket for youself anyway :) Did you have a look at meet ups? Also, might be worth posting a notice in work if you have a noticeboard, to see if anyone else would like to go.
