I love Aldi and Lidl but suspect their electrical items are not the best. I'd take it back. It should have lasted longer.

Another vote for taking the shaver back back. It doesn't work after a month then it's not working, even heavy handed usage would mean it should last longer than that.
And your holiday accommodation sounds great.

    That's Wednesday done :)

    That's October done

I emailed Lidl customer services, they said return it. So that's a job for Friday.

Had my carer review today and I qualify for a payment of £150. Pretty certain it was £200 last year but not to be sneezed at all the same. I probably won't get it next year though as they are cutting back.

Payday today, not had time to do finances properly yet but have paid cc statement off. Still a balance on it though that's rolled over so need to look at that.

Tonight has been a nightmare with the dog barking at Trick or Treaters, it was bedlam. I think next year we'll have to be out. Mr SA was upsetting the kids by saying they had to have fruit instead of sweets!

Some sad news last night as I heard that someone I used to work with, who'd retired, passed away very suddenly. He was a really nice bloke, such a shame, I feel for his family, they must be devastated :(

Busy day at work tomorrow as I'm note taking at a meeting all day.

Fingers crossed November is a good month for us all :)

    Soon be Christmas

  • That's sad about the person at work. Mr SA... I have no words, rolls eyes.

    Thank goodness it's Friday :)

Took the shaver back, got money back no questions asked. Replaced with branded shaver from Boots for an extra £20, job done. Warned Mr SA not to overcharge this shaver, be more careful with it, etc. He went ballistic, saying don't tell me how to use shavers! Coincidentally this is him all over - he constantly charges things up, constantly fills up his glass of beer and when he was driving he was obsessed with keeping the petrol tank full to the brim. Can see a theme here!

Re the carer's payment, if it was 10 times that it wouldn't make up for the sheer stress of coping with Mr SA. They offered to pay for someone to sit with him while I went out but what I would love more than anything is for someone to take him out for the day while I had a day at home all to myself. It annoys me that to get a break I physically have to leave the house.

Looking forward to a relaxing weekend, I am shattered after a hectic week at work.

  • I suppose Mr SA wouldn't want someone to sit with him when you go out . I hope you buy yourself something nice with the money, even if it is less than last year.

When I get the money, I'm going to put it to one side to fund my secret days off. I'll have a day off work and either potter round town or catch a train to a nearby town. £150 should cover around 3 such escapes :)
