Hello
I typed a long reply to you and lost it. To say I’m sorry that you had to receive your Dads news in the way you did, perhaps now is the time to walk away from that friendship on FB and draw a line ?
Re Mr SA and your story shows how there is very little out there when it comes to practical support, purely down to financial resources - all the support like the falls emergency team, that have been there in the past, they know it benefits people and the emergency services and A & E but they are not essential life saving teams - an add on so are cut from budgets. To changes in the home, is not based on the disabled persons income, but joint household income. Other countries do better such as Norway but they pay massive amounts of tax.
I think you manage the extra cost of disability with great skill, patience and a kind and loving heart, for me I wish someone could reach out to Mr SA to help him accept the life he has now, so he could accept that he needs to use aids for his incontinence etc which would lift some of the burden of his care from your shoulders.
Wishing you a lovely day with your friendsAs a dear MSE friend says “keep plodding” or
What does the saying say.... When life hands you lemons, make lemonade
Or as my Mum would say, brush yourself down, tomorrow is another day or
Fake it, to you Make It

Thank you BM, your lovely post is much appreciated xx
That's the working week doneFlown by yet again. Really looking forward to tomorrow. Going to leave home at a similar time so not to arouse Mr SA's suspicions then have a coffee in town, potter round Primark when it opens at 8am then a quick look around Debenhams spectacular before I get the train. I've got £40 in vouchers that can be spent in Debenhams - I was sorry to hear the news they are closing so many shops, such a shame
There won't be any shops left soon
Still keeping track of budget and WW using my apps and it's really bringing it home to me how easy it is to spend money and points and lose track if you're not careful.
Have done a freezer inventory and I think next week's meal plan will have to revolve around using stuff up rather than try new recipes. There's certainly no room in there for anything else.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
