Couldn't you tell him there's a new policy at work and you're not allowed personal phone calls? Although he'd probably think it didn't apply to him.

    That's Tuesday done :)

Had an early night last night, had just dropped off when I was woken up again by the sound of Mr SA shuffling about downstairs quite quickly which usually means he's up to something. Then he came upstairs and went in the bathroom. I heard the dog barking so had to get up only to find her shut outside. I went back upstairs to find Mr SA in the shower - yes despite everything that happened Saturday!! He'd had another toilet accident :(

Of course it took forever to get back to sleep again!

Really getting fed up of this :(

Realised I hadn't had a carers assessment this year thanks to Lucky's diary, so contacted adult health and social care who usually do them. They apologised and I'll be contacted shortly for an assessment.

Have made a start on Christmas shopping today and have bought a fire engine for DGS from the Mr S half price toy sale :)

In other news I've been to yoga today and have resurrected the My Weekly Budget app so I can keep tabs on spends easily. Tracked everything on my WW app, had 6 points left, you can roll over 4, which meant 2 to use or lose today. A single measure of gin is 2 points so I've got an unexpected G+T tonight :) Mind you when you measure out 25ml properly it doesn't even cover the ice cubes :rotfl:

  • Oh SA.. I have no words. I know Mr SA has a reason for his behaviour but it's so hard on you. He really has no idea of the impact he has, or how demanding he is. Calling you that many times at work isn't on. Hoping this week goes a lot more smoothly for you - must be time for one of your secret days, surely? xx

Oh no SA what a time you’ve had recently. He is so stubborn and wants to be independent - which I get totally but he is being a tad selective at what he’s doing independently - if his independence ran to clearing up properly after himself I’d leave him to it, but life isn’t that simple.

I can’t count the times my sil had to call the ambulances out to get her dh up after falls (he has advanced Parkinson’s and has recently had to go into a home) what got me was the amount of time they had to wait - as you have - emergencies rightly take priority - but the falls could quickly turn into hyperthermia or other related emergency. A couple of times the ‘carers’ phoned for the ambulance after he’d fallen as ‘they weren’t trained to get patients up!!!’ - which I find unbelievable. Surely there could be a service maybe an arm of social services to free up ambulances and have equipment and training to get unstable folk up in the first instance - they’d obviously have training - just to get them mobile again quickly check them over and then phone an ambulance if needed after that. And all these ambulance call outs are taking the ambulances away from life threatening call outs.... sorry - just my rant on how I think things might be improved for both the ambulance service and the patient rather than waiting in an undignified way for hours on end :p:

Hopefully you’ll get another carers assessment quickly - but no matter what they say you still have the problem of getting Mr SA to agree.

Hope you get as chilled a week as possible

    I Believe.....
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present.

happiness isn't achieved by getting extra things,
but by getting rid of the things that make you unhappy
  • Oh blimey SA he's unbelievable! He never learns does he!
