So sorry to hear all that, you must be exhausted and downright fed up. Bad enough the stress of having to wait for an ambulance etc, but to have to clear up all the mess too
. Maybe take the lock off the bathroom door for future? In our house, if it’s closed there’s someone in, no need for locks.
In some ways it’s good it happened on a Saturday as you have today to recover, but in others it’s just typical as the ambulance probably would’ve been there in half the time on any other night.
I think you can insist on some form of incontinence pants now, assuming he doesn’t already have them.
Hope the rest of today is better XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

What a terrible night. I really don't know how you manage to cope with all this. Is there nothing further can be done to help the incontinence?Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0

Ours too after the little boy next door managed to lock himself in.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
Thanks Lucky xx
I never wanted the lock on the door in the first place but he insisted. He knows he shouldn't be showering when there's no one to help. I was fast asleep on the sofa. At he moment the door architrave is broken so we can't lock it now anyway - another job!
I feel like as fast as we're getting things done to the house, Mr SA is trashing it. I know he can't help falling but he puts himself in situations where he falls.
The paramedics said our bath isn't suitable for a disabled person and it should have a door on it. I've seen a step in a disabled catalogue and will order that, not that it's going to help with the falls, but it might make it easier for him to get in and out.
Need to do finances this morning, money starts coming on from tomorrow onwards although have a lot to pay out so November might be a bit tight.
In other news I can't believe I put 1lb on at WW. I was good all week tooFunnily enough a few others also put weight on when they weren't expecting it. So we're blaming it on scales :rotfl: On the plus side as WW are rebranding they were selling off all the merchandise half price. Bought 8 boxes of biscuits, should keep me going a while!

Crossed posts Toni's Friend - he's already been assessed by the incontinence team and given some pads, which he put straight in the bin! It's the message between his bladder/bowel and brain getting there too late.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

He is stubborn, isn't he? Why do people insist on making life difficult for themselves and everyone else around them. My mother was exactly the same.
I don't know how this works but when Himself's late father had a stroke his bathroom was adapted for him and he was supplied with various aids to help him. I think it was the social work department who arranged it. It may be different depending on which part of the country you live in.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
Do you have a shower over the bath SA? Is there no room for a walk in shower? We have a small shower cubicle and a bath but are considering doing away with the bath when our bathroom is refitted next year or year after and building a larger shower cubicle. We are older than you but think getting in and out of baths seems to be an issue for many as they get older and certainly the disabled. Depends on what room you have and I seem to recall your bathroom is fairly new. We rarely take baths though but I can see many would balk at getting rid of it.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. The bathroom is only a year old. I would be miserable without my bath as it's where I go to relax at the end of the day away from Mr SA. I wanted both a bath and shower cubicle when the bathroom was remodelled but they said there wasn't room and put in a pea shaped bath instead. When Mr SA first came out of hospital social services got the bathroom knitted out with rails and other disabled stuff. Of course that all came down with the new bathroom and Mr SA thought he didn't need a rail as the window sill is at the side of the shower and he was using that to steady himself. The main issue with him is once he's fallen he can't get up. He has no strength in his arms or legs. His legs just give way. If he'd fallen on the floor he could've rolled over, it was just unfortunate where he fell. He's learned his lesson though and has vowed not to get in the shower on his own now. I will be purchasing the bath steps, a better non slip mat and a grab rail today.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

My sister in law had a removable seat that went across the bath so she could sit when having a shower. Would that help in conjunction with a grab rail?Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0

We did have one - he decided he didn't need it and sent it back to Red Cross - might add one to the shopping list.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0
