Mr SA has been truly nagged to death by his sister. It was quite entertaining
It rained for the best part of today. Went to Aldi this morning, got soaked but came back with a bag full of bargains including frozen butternut squash for 69p and squashes too decorative to cut up at 39p each.
Didn't get lunch until 4.30 today  Was starving! This was down to the SIL visit - they don't do lunch.
Bit of a rush but made spicy butternut squash soup from the WW card and cauliflower curry from my new WW cookbook, both gorgeous.
Will have to go to bed soon ready for 4.45 am work get up.
Have a good week folksI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -

DS told me yesterday his GF's dad walks past her in the street or hides. Her step dad is more of a dad to her.
Yes it's certainly an odd situation to be in, I've always tried to believe that it's his problem not mine, helped along by knowledge of his drinking, violent & jealous disposition towards my mum & womanising (at least when they were married - maybe he's different now but I wouldn't know).
Also, people tend to gloss over things on social media don't they, so he might still be the same terrible person but my half sister is unlikely to post about that! I know my sister found it more difficult not having a dad & felt like the odd one out amongst her friends. My father figure was my mum's dad, I was lucky to have him.
My "dad" would do (and has done) the same as your DS's GF's dad to both myself & my sister. I'm not sure he even recognises me so although I find it weird, I'm not really hurt by it - it's his loss in the end.
Had to laugh at Mr SA being nagged to death by his sister, that's what sisters are for (at least sometimes), good on her. :rotfl:Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Popping out of lurkdom to suggest that Mr SA's sister should be roped in to be with him at least once a month to give you a breakWhat would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0

That's Monday done. First day back at work was very busy, talk about straight back into it. Already made arrangements to go for a drink with my work friend on Friday.
It was my dad's funeral today - more information gleaned from FB. I would've like to have been invited, I would've probably gone. Oh well it is what it is, too late now.
Got soaked walking to and from work today. Took my trainers off this morning, wondered why one foot was soaked and the other dry - then I realised the sole was hanging off one trainerSo had to buy a new pair on the way home - I hate having to buy things in a rush, I would've liked to have looked around for a good pair. I ended up getting a pair of Skechers shape ups for £24 from TK Maxx.
Went to the gym at lunchtime, wanted to get straight back on it.
Hope everyone has had a good day.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
It's such a shame nobody let you know about the funeral , he was your dad as well after all. There is nothing stranger than folk .
Well done on going back to the gym straightaway. Boo to having to buy new trainers .This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
