The only problem with vinyl is that if it gets wet it can be slippy - not such a good idea at the top of the stairs.

Would some kind of flotex carpet work?

The card issuer couldn’t see any reason why payment was declined. I told them to put a note on my account to say I’ll be putting through a larger than normal amount tomorrow and not to decline it.

I still think it’s because the amount is larger than normal but the issuer says it shouldn’t affect it. Very strange.

Don’t blame you for wanting to see the actual colours for yourself. I think non slip vinyl would be ideal….just throwing ideas in the pot as I’ve no idea of the layout of your house…..but could you match it by having similar on the downstairs hall and just carpet on the stairs. We had laminated flooring in our hall but carpet on the stairs. The hall carpet used to get really mucky…..it’s made such a difference. We have vinyl in the kitchen and everyone is surprised it isn’t actual wooden laminate…..I did want wooden laminate in the kitchen but the floor was slightly uneven 😏 twas rather expensive though but it looks good 😁👍

Azn/Hfx declined my card last night for no obvious reason either - perhaps something going on in the ether?  Glad you got something sorted for a new delivery, I'd be cross about losing the discount.

We have some carpet wash stuff that is designed for the incontinent that works quite well - better than the bissel or vax type stuff.  Ideal 365 Carpet Cleaner Urine, on Azn. Animals rather than humans here.  Carpet wise the darker colours and nastier textured carpets worked better, pale coloured nice expensive wool less so.

Your comment prompted me to have a closer look at the incontinence cleaners I have for Mr SA. The mattress stain remover also works on carpets so will give it a go see if it makes a difference.

Thanks to the cancelled Mr M order I’ve managed NSD 11/10 today. We have enough to last us until tomorrow. Mr SA is in severe shortage of beer panic mode as he’s down to his last few cans 🙄 Fingers crossed the order is redelivered tomorrow.
