I don't think the vendor is aware it's known as 'Jaws' .

I think it’s a climbing rose gone wild. It covers a very large area of the banks and has climbed up a huge tree, eventually making its way to the back of our garden and now creeping over the fence. It’s taken it a few years to get this far. Once the flowers are open they only last a few days sadly.

Happy Jubilee weekend 🇬🇧 🥳🥂

I need to make a list of what I want to achieve over this 4 day break, don’t want to waste my time off work.

So far today we have an electrician coming at 9 to look at the living room main light that stopped working a while ago. We don’t have the big light on as a rule so if it’s an expensive or messy job it can stay as it is. 

After that I need to go to Lidl. 

Weather permitting the hanging chair will eventually be put up. I need to paint the pallet and the wooden bench at the bottom of the garden. Lots of gardening to be done too. 

Tomorrow we are going to fetch the paint and pick up the cat and dog’s flea treatment from the vet while we are down that way.

I painted the pallet, had to sand it down first as it had red colouring on it and I wanted to paint it light grey. 

The hanging chair didn’t get put up because Mr SA couldn’t be bothered to help me and it needs two people to assemble 🙁

Went to Lidl first thing and managed to get a £1.50 fruit and veg box. Loads of decent stuff in it: a bunch of beetroot, 3 aubergines, bag of pears, bag of apples, cabbage, a lemon, lots of lettuce lurking at the bottom though and I’d already bought lettuce, plus the world’s tiniest cauliflower 😆

Having the other half of the veg risotto tonight with a huge side salad - plenty of lettuce 🤣

The electrician has found the problem with the light and is coming to fix it in a week or so. He said it’ll cost around £80 to £100. I thought he said £1800 at first and nearly had a heart attack 😆 Had to ask him to confirm again. 

Finished my current book - East of the Sun by Julia Gregson. It was very good, set in India in 1928. New book to start tomorrow- Our Little Cruelties by Liz Nugent.

Morning, happy Friday 🥂

Just had to let a massive moth out of the kitchen 😱 I can’t stand them flapping about. Weird that if it had been a butterfly it wouldn’t bother me. 

Going to pick the paint up today. Mr SA is coming with me and the dog I think. They can stay outside with a coffee. Then hopefully the chair is going up. 

The weather looks a bit dull but I think it’s going to brighten up. Hope so as I want to paint the garden bench today. 

Exercise today will be the walk to and from B&Q, it’s a 7/8 miles round trip. 

I’ve also got the hairdressers later this afternoon.

There are quite a number of self employed people working as they dont get paid, I had a massage yesterday and the mobile fish man still called, also got my nails today.  I think unless they have something planned people are working. Maybe because its 2 days rather than just one, or maybe because its the end of the week rather than a Monday.

I was also at the hairdressers today, she has stayed open as she is fully booked with lots of people being off work.
