My hairdresser said he was open because he’s self employed and has Mondays off every week so bank holidays on any other days he’s open.Went to B&Q for the paint, was very disappointed in choice and price. I bumped into someone I work with in there and he suggested I try B&M. So I bought the white emulsion and eggshell paint from B&Q then went in B&M. Much better choice and price in there. The feature wall paint I wanted was £19 for 2.5 litres in B&Q, £13 in B&M, exactly the same paint - Dulux. Bought the rest of the walls paint and hall/stairs paint too. Also bought some bits for the zen area. The hanging chair is finally up 🥳 It is so comfortable I could stay in it all day. The dog loves it too. I’ll take a photo when I’ve finished the zen area.Made a start on painting the garden bench but got fed up after a bit and started getting slapdash so will finish another day.You should’ve seen Mr SA’s scooter piled high with the spoils of the day 🤣
Planning on going back on Sunday to pick up the things I couldn’t manage today. Also saw some cushions that will look fabulous in the living room. I need to make a list. The weather was lovely from about 10am when the sun came out despite the overcast start.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7 -
Morning, happy Saturday 🥂
Overcast again this morning. I need to get a waterproof cover for the chair asap, don’t want to ruin it.DS and the GKs are meant to be visiting today, I’m half hoping they’ll cancel, sounds awful of me but we’re still in a mess and there’s nowhere for everyone to sit. I’m thinking about asking them to meet us at the local big park as they’re doing something for the Jubilee this weekend. Providing it doesn’t rain that is.I’ve done two loads of washing, hoping to get it dry. The laundry basket was empty yesterday when it was dry and sunny, it’s magically filled up overnight!I need to go to the local shops for a few bits this morning. Running out of loo rolls, the ones I like best have gone up from £3.49 to £4.99 a pack in the last couple of weeks 😕Pizza and salad for tonight’s dinner, Prosecco is already in the fridge 😁I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4 -
Must be a time for buying cushions. We bought a couple for the van yesterday. Been back today to get four more for at home 🤣🤣🤣
The other half is well chuffed. They are ones we always wanted on the boat but could never afford them.
They were 60% off in a sale.

DS and the GKs didn’t come because DIL and DGD were getting their hair cut. It worked out well really with us still being in a mess. We’ll see them next weekend when we should hopefully be straight and moved back in the living room.Got my washing dry and did a bit of cleaning and gardening plus loads of ironing. Also sat in my hanging chair reading my book for a bit. Have ordered a cover from Amazon, arriving tomorrow, the cushions are in the greenhouse for tonight. The weather doesn’t look great tomorrow so the B&M trip may be aborted 🙁I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

Morning happy Sunday 🌧
Pouring with rain here and no signs of it clearing with weather warnings for floods and thunderstorms. The local Jubilee event has been cancelled, such a shame 🙁
So no B&M trip. On the plus side that means it will be NSD 1/12 for June if the weather doesn’t clear.
Not looking forward to being cooped up in the house all day with Mr SA and the living room out of action.I need to do next week’s meal plan. I must start using my recipe books again. Tonight’s dinner will involve aubergines to use those out of the Lidl box up.Can’t believe it’s back to work tomorrow and a full week 😫 I have 14 days leave left to use, new leave year starts 1 September, I can carry 10 days forward but have to use the 4 days by the end of August or lose them. I feel a couple of long weekends coming on 😃I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5 -

Got soaked taking the dog on the park, she enjoyed it though. Needless to say we were the only ones there.A local pub came to the rescue of the Jubilee event and let them hold it inside. The aubergines, along with some other veg, are in the slow cooker, making a ratatouille. The kitten is fast asleep on my knee, the first time she’s done this. I need to be getting on with jobs but haven’t the heart to disturb her. Taking the opportunity to do some Spanish learning and read my book.Mr SA has gone to bed for his siesta so lovely and peaceful downstairs. No money spent so NSD 1/12.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3
