What I hope is that the energy companies eventually lower their prices once this crisis is over and not keep them high because people have no option but to pay the higher prices. For instance a few years ago I remember there was some issue with potatoes and our local chippy put their prices up because of this. They didn’t lower their prices after the crisis was over and kept them high because they realised folks were prepared to pay the higher price 😡 The difference is we can’t not use gas and electric so we are all over a barrel 🙁
I switched to 🐙 after my previous provider wanted to put my monthly payment up to £172 a month, this was a couple of years ago. I know I’ve been lucky that 🐙 only wanted £118 a month, so was fully expecting a big rise even without this current price hike. Unfortunately there isn’t a lot I can do to reduce consumption. I live in a big old house with someone home 24-7. I’m trying to keep on the case of Mr SA constantly charging his scooter up and other small changes to try and make a little difference if I can.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4 -
I'm with 🐙 too. No increase this month, I am in credit and this month's statement shows we paid £10 more than we used which is a very slim margin and that's with no heating, very little use of the oven and trying to be careful with usage.I really feel for people who are right at the margins of their budget - who have limited options on bringing in more money or spending less money. Worklessness and in work poverty will take their toll on our society.6

Morning happy Friday Eve.I’m going into the office this morning just to show my face and get away from Mr SA for a bit. I need to withdraw some cash from the bank as the builder wants part of his payment in cash.I also need to pick up a few things from Lidl on the way home.
Messaged the painter yesterday to see if he’s free next week. Not heard back yet,I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5 -

Back at home now. It was good to have a change of scenery for a bit plus it got me 17k steps walking there and back.
The builder has made a start on the floor. As the floorboards are the original ones from when it was built in 1932, and not in the best condition, he's boarding it over first.
Popped in Lidl on the way home, used my voucher for a free bakery item (chose a baguette) and have now qualified for £2 off the next shop. Won't make it to the £10 off this month.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4 -
Pleased you got out of the house for a while…..even if it was only to work and shops. Hope the painter can fit you in quickly.January spends - £587.583

Mr SA has driven me nuts tonight. He’s spilled beer all over the floor and the TV remote, so I’ve had an ordeal trying to get everything back up and running again. The TV in the dining room where we’re currently sitting doesn’t have an aerial and it’s not a smart tv so runs off a Roku box. He can’t grasp the concept that you don’t change channels with the TV remote and you can’t flick about with the Roku remote, absolute nightmare 😩I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

Hopefully you’ll be back to normal very soon so that Mr SA can flick through the channels to his hearts content 🤞January spends - £587.582

Happy Friday 🥂
I’m in the office again today but finishing at lunchtime. It was going to be a NSD but I could do with picking up some outdoor wood stain for the pallet while I’m in town so it probably won’t be.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1
