I kept a pallet from our works a couple of years ago….Dh wasn’t as enthused about it as I was 😏 and  since I’m a bit limited these days re sawing and nailing (I’d have had it made into something before my op on my arm) i reluctantly let it go last year after I’d become sick of stepping over it and Dh wasn’t taking the bait to turn it into lettuce beds attached to the wall 😏😡😏

We're with the tentacled ones too... £54 credit left before they start to increase the DD. I'm glad of Martin's programme last night because DH suddenly went off to check what the emails really said and realised we aren't on some magical lower rate forever. That said, I've still not learned to use the multicooker which was supposed to save us from having the oven on most days.

I have a pallet that I hung onto when we had tiles delivered, with the idea that it's a pallet and therefore highly desirable but no real idea what to do with it. :D Some sort of upright planter is looking like a good idea but I have so much gardening to do that it may never happen. :(

The plastering is almost finished @Cherryfudge, still a lot more to do though, looking like mid next week before it’s done and that’s not including the painting.

Scary times, @Sun_Addict. I feel news of our new increased payment can only be days away. Maybe they're working on it now as our monthly statement is 4 days late. Increases of £100+ a month can't not affect people's budgets. It's grim alright.

I think I’ll accept the new amount and try to build up some credit for later in the year. I have the £150 CT rebate to soften the blow plus I get a £70 a month pay rise in July. Worst case scenario I can stop overpaying the remortgage or reduce the overpayment. I also have the option of trying for promotion again. At least I have options, there’ll be a great many who don’t sadly.

Yes, you are right. It is a worry, as paying so much extra money for energy costs each month means it will have to come from somewhere, but I know I'm very fortunate no longer to have a mortgage & I'm grateful for that every single day. I have worked in a number of economically & socially disadvantaged communities & know that very many people are going to struggle desperately to pay even for the basics. I'm hoping this won't be compounded with a particularly cold winter. People must be worried sick

Well I spoke too soon about 🐙 they want to put my payments up by £110 a month 😱 starting from July. Last month’s bill was £153 and I’m still £102 in credit so I think that’s too much for now. I can amend it but to no lower than £191 a month. Goodness knows how much it will be at the next rate rise 😩
    Bloody hell.
