Sun_Addict said:I’ve received the quote for the living room makeover £4150. That’s for:
Complete replastering including boarding over the ceiling
New ceiling light and 2 new sockets
2 new doors
New skirting boards and architraves
Built in window seat
New flooring (wood effect not a cheap one)
It’s slightly less than I was expecting so have accepted the quote. He can start late June which is great as it coincides with my Regular Saver, earmarked for this, maturing.
I came down from the shower and found the other half cleaning out the toaster tonight 🤣🤣🤣2 -

I'm already looking forward to the photos of your room, the bedroom ones were beautiful.
Yes, it's terrible about Tom Parker, so sad.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Payday 😁
Everything has now been allocated to bills and pots so the initial excitement has faded somewhat.
I was in the office briefly this morning and WFH this afternoon. Popped into Lidl on the way home, spent less than £10. I won't make it to the £200 spend to get £10 this month. I have spent enough with Mr M to qualify for the £36 off voucher though.
The kitten slept in the bed with me last night, curled up in the crook of my arm, bless her. She somehow got the cone off this morning while I was at work, DD noticed and managed to get it back on. I had the phone consultation with the vet and she says it's ok if the post op check up next Friday is done over the phone too as long as everything's healing, so that'll save me a trip and taxi fares.
The holiday vouchers and final confirmation have arrived so I've printed them off. I'm tempted to book the airport lounge as I've received a 15% off voucher. I've also received a good offer on euros from M&S. It's all starting to get very real now - 4 weeks today 😎I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -
Happy pay day. I did my shuffle and removed all temptation and now my account looks grim 😁 after the main dd’s on Monday it will look proper grim 😬 the excitement was fun for half an hour this morning though 🤣Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Day off today. It’s my friend’s funeral this morning, really not looking forward to that 😢 Then I’m going to a retirement do this afternoon.
I did 4 loads of washing last night before prices go up today. Fortunately it’s a lovely sunny day so will peg it out. The last “cheap” gas/electric direct debit payment has gone out this morning. Still unsure of what next month’s will be.Another £100 overpayment gone to the additional borrowing part of the mortgage. Might have to knock this on the head soon depending on gas/electric prices. It will be something quick and easy for tonight’s dinner, scampi, wedges and veg for me, Mr SA will have chips and mushy peas with his,I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4 -
Hope today goes as well at these things can.Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.3
