We have had our leather sofas for 15 years and keep considering changing them.

But there is nothing wrong with them and like you whenever we look at replacements they are always very similar. 🤣🤣🤣
This one is only around 6 or 7 years old. I think I had it in my head that as we were refurbishing the room we needed a new sofa too. There’s only me sits on it for barely more than an hour at night and DS and DIL once a fortnight for a couple of hours.
We are never at home. Ours hardly get used 🤣🤣🤣

When we are at home more often than not we are sat in the kitchen.

Having a good clean round today has made me realise we don’t really need a new sofa. It’s leather and still in really good condition, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with it. I was looking at DFS website earlier and saw a sofa I liked then realised it was the same one as mine. So that’s saved a lot of money and hassle. Mr SA’s chair is wrecked (by him) so that really does need replacing unfortunately.

Have made a batch of red lentil soup for work lunches. Tonight’s dinner is a portion of nut roast from freezer stocks with some of the parmentier potatoes and loads of veg.
    That's a good sign. :)

We spent an afternoon recently trying to find a pair of sofas but I'm coming to the conclusion we like different things. We almost agreed on one and while talking to our daughter about it, she said that's the model she and her partner have! So we are agreed on our good taste... but then a friend of hers has the previous model of the same sofa and isn't happy with how it's worn, so we are back to square one.

Incidentally, I wonder how long ago since sofas stopped going down to ground level (I'm sure I could have put that better but you'll see what I mean!) and started being on legs? I'm sure more things will now get lost underneath and I'll feel I have to be forever pulling it out to hoover.

I know what you mean @Cherryfudge. Our last sofas were down to the ground and the one we have now has legs. I’m forever pulling it out to vacuum or retrieve cat/dog toys. I kept one of the old sofas and it’s in the dining room, it’s a nice comfy place for me to sit and read. The other sofa went to a local homeless charity as they were looking for 2 seater sofas for those moving off the streets to flats.

Ours from 15 years ago are on "legs". Not very tall ones but stuff does go under there 🙁

I'm not sure how old ours are! Pre-legs probably dates them terribly but I would never have noticed if DH wasn't finding them uncomfortable which led to us starting to research replacements.

My sofas are over 20 years old. I plan to get some leather dye as they are pretty pet scratched , but so comfy. They were rather expensive with electric recliners and go down to the floor. I thought they were so dear at the time, but I’ve really got my monies worth and will keep them until one of us breaks 😁

No point buying new if your current suite is comfortable. A bit of leather cleaner and cream will give it a new lease of life. We’ve had our leather 3 piece for 15 years and because of the shape of our room, we can’t change position of the settee to enable even wear. The seat Dh sits in is becoming a bit saggy……I really don’t want to change it as it fits really well into the room……think I might have to look into getting it repaired some time soon.
Kitten is looking very happy considering she is wearing the collar
