Dublin airport is about 40 minutes away from the city centre so the only viable option is to get one of the many buses that stop outside of the airport.
My recommendation is to go to the "Bus, rail and transport advice" desk and ask for a return ticket for the 747 bus. 10 Euros for one ticket and the bus stops just outside the arrivals exit. Can I afford to buy? Mortgage Affordability Calculator

No, no, no, get a Family Rambler ticket (booth to the left of the exit door of the airport) for 10 euros for the day for the whole family and it also covers the airport express buses 747 and 748.
edited to add, I didn't mean that to sound rude but it is cheaper and a family doesn't need to have children0 -

This problem with their website must be losing them megabucks! The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0

Booking period has been extended again to Monday 23 June for the 1p midweek flights0
-
Just to remind you that you can still book 1p flights with no charges up until midnight 26 June. Although the page on Ryan Air says from October until the end of January there are in fact 1p flights available from July0

One month ago, on 24 May, I took a party of 15 Scouts (12 young people and 3 Adults) to Slovenia for a week-long expedition. We flew Ryanair to Klagenfurt, Austria, as this was the nearest airport to our destination. We checked in 15 rucksacks: 14 of these got to Austria with us but one was missing. We got a Property Irregularity Report from the airport, confirmed the forwarding address in Slovenia, and set off on our expedition.
The airport rang TWO DAYS LATER to say that Ryanair had found the bag and would deliver it to Klagenfurt the following day, 27 May. However, they told me that Ryanair had refused to authorise the onward delivery of the bag to us because we were "more than 25 km away from the airport"!
I managed to send a clearly worded fax to Ryanair Baggage Handling Department in Dublin (quite an achievement on a white-water rafting day!), explaining that one child had no clothes or equipment for a mountain expedition and requesting that they honour their responsibility to deliver the bag to us without further delay. The fax went straight through - perhaps because it was a bank holiday in UK. Klagenfurt airport also sent them at least three emails, my insurers tried to contact them and the child's parents actually managed to speak to someone. Ryanair gave NO RESPONSE to anyone! Consequently, the missing rucksack waited at Klagenfurt airport until we were able to collect it during our return journey on 31 May.
We bought a few essentials to get the tearful Scout through the rest of the week. Back home, I wrote to Ryanair again. This time I asked for a response within 7 days, in accordance with their customer charter, and demanded repayment of our expenses caused by their mishandling of the delayed bag. I also requested compensation for the suffering and upset caused to the family of the child who spent a whole expedition without their stuff.
After 6 days I got an email from Ryanair - titled "do not reply to this email" - saying they were sorry to have lost the bag and didn't know where it was. Every single fact in the letter was wrong. This appears to be Ryanair's attempt to meet their customer charter obligation without actually investigating anything - or even reading my letters!
Fortunately, I have had my expenses paid by my travel insurer. Another insurance company commented that it was so difficult to get Ryanair to respond to claims that a consortium of insurers is planning to bring a "class action" against them, to compel them to start handling legitimate complaints and claims responsibly. There is no sign of the compensation requested for the Scout - and I am not about to hold my breath.
So BE WARNED! If you entrust your expedition gear to Ryanair, you may not see it again until the end of your expedition and they will not even acknowledge your complaints, let alone deliver your kit to you, despite the promises in their Customer Charter to do both these things. Traveller beware!0 -
Unfortunately this is the price you pay for a cheap flight. Make no mistake Ryanair intend to do nothing beyond giving you cheap flight. Customer service is not part of their remit. However, it's still worthwhile getting cheap flights with Ryanair if their flights fit into your itinery, but don't rely on them to the extent that your luggage will go with you, unless it's in the cabin with you, and always be aware that they will cancel your flight at short notice without giving you any assistance if it suits them. I would suggest you write to newspapers and TV consumer programmes as bad publicity will be the only thing that will change Ryanairs attitudes, and even then they won't be bothered unless it affects their botttom line.
Having said all that I am still a fan of Ryanair and other cheap airlines but you have to be aware of their limitations and make sure you have contingency plans ready for when it does go wrong, which from time to time it surely will.Age & Treachery Will Always Overcome Youth & Enthusiasm !!

Just got back from Dublin using Ryanair's 1p promo. Ok, so I paid with a debit card meaning it actually cost £1.21 per person per trip. A return trip for me and the wife came to £4.84. Unbelievable and using Martins flightchecker there were lots more like this available at the time. There is a strange feeling knowing that buying a box of Pringles will increase the cost of the flight by £100%! This is the 5th time I have flown ryanair and was by far my best experience with them.
We checked in online the night before for both trips which was nice and easy. Got up early Monday morning armed with a small racksack each (containing a change of clothes and basic toiletries) and got the bus to Stansted. Nice and relaxed we got a fryup and then made our way to our gate. Not checking luggage in gives you the most amazing airport experience! Because we checked in online we had priority boarding and got on the plane pretty quickly and the wife got her window seat easily. There wasn’t the mass scramble/free for all I’ve had in the past so maybe people are getting more relaxed about getting on the plane these days!
The flight took off on time and landed early in Dublin. The leather seats are comfortable, seat pitch excellent, and come with a feature I would actually pay more money for. The seats don’t recline! Thank god! No more idiots in front of me reclining and bouncing around their seats the second the flight takes off. Why people feel the need to do this the second the plane takes off is beyond me!
For the 55 minute flight I read my paper and just ignored all calls to buy scratch cards and food/drink. On arrival to Dublin we walked straight out of the airport onto a bus!
Coming home last night was exactly the same. No baggage to check in, relaxed atmosphere and on time. Both flights were full but the trips were handled well and everyone on board seemed happy.
I’ve never had a bad trip with Ryanair and will probably continue to use them even if I do. I often don’t understand people’s attitude to low cost flights. Personally, even on a 3 hour flight you can live without a meal and complimentary drinks (how often do people need to eat!?!?!). Just take a bottle of water and a small snack if you must! These flights are a breeze compared to getting a train up north!
Are they the best airline I’ve used? God no! That goes to Qantas for my amazing trip to oz earlier this year but I paid £900 per person for that privilege (although got fab stops in Bangkok and Singapore for the price). Are they the best budget airline I’ve used? Nah - that goes to virgin blue on the same amazing oz trip.
However, this trip to Dublin was the most relaxing flight experience I have ever had and then I have to kick myself to remember how much it cost! I fully support Ryanairs cost saving approaches such as offering more savings for people who check in online and take on hand luggage only. Looking at how much you can actually get in hand luggage I reckon we can easily go on a 1 week break just using it.0
