I've just booked a return flight to Frankfurt with Ryanair and have been charged £10 for paying with my debit card. Robbing so-n-so's.0

I've just booked what we're supposed to be £1 flights from Ryan Air tax and charge included. I thought brillint, wasn't taking any luggage and online check in, no extra charges added on.....so I thought. I entered all my passenger information, billing adrress and card number, until it came to choosing my card type. I have a Visa Debit probably one of the most popular cards, and they had the cheek to charge £20 TRANSACTION FEE. Easy jet is only £2....can someone tell me how the hell can the justify that???? I feel robbed!!!0

You've got a flying bus return trip for £21 and you feel robbed!
You're 'avin a larf ain'tcha?
That's 10.50 quid each way, and probably over water, absolute flamin' bargain if you ask me.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
To those moaning about Ryanair fees, try doing a search on here for Entropay. You can create a "virtual" Electron card and avoid the £5 debit/credit card fee. Entropay charge 4:95% to add money to your virtual card from a normal debit card, 50p per £10 so your £2 flights would have cost you £2:10 instead of £12. You do have to deposit a minimum of £10 on to your new "virtual card" and they charge £3 if you want to take your money back out, so worst scenario is you put £10 on, cost £10:50, book a return flight, £2, then withdraw your £8 balance at a cost of £3, so only £5 back in reality. Then the flight will have cost you £5:50 still better than £12 with Ryanair though.
HERE is a link to help you next time.0 -
Are you sure about the Entropay? From their site, it looks like Visa Debit rather than Electron0

Yes it does show a visa debit on there but I selected Visa Electron on the Ryanair site and entered the details provided by entropay. The payment was accepted, 4 X £2, by RA, my account at Entropay has been updated so seems to go through ok. Confirmation e-mail from RA showing total cost of £8 paid, so looks good so far.

We've just returned from a 4p - yes four pence, trip to Stockholm. Paid with my sisters Visa Electron, online check in and no luggage - woo hoo!!!
OK, had to pay for the bus from the airport to the city & a hotel for two nights, but this was cheaper than a UK weekend break.
I ran out counting the number of people complaining about the one baggage policy, or no liquid policy, or 10 kilo policy. Then there were the ones who thought the plane might leave without them and had to fight to get to the front of the queue.
If you want good service pay for BA or Virgin, if you want cheap and cheerful you've got it, stop moaning.
We had a great time, thanks Ryanair :beer:0 -

Hiya guys 'n' girls,
I think I 've just realised how ryanair are making money on their £1/1p flights.
Earlier this week I checked the cost from East Midlands to Wroclaw, Poland, and the return trip was just under £39 all in. £5 plus taxes and charges out and the rest coming back.
Just checked it tonight and it's now £0 to go out and £31 odd to come back, BUT...... they have doubled the taxes and charges so that the same flight is now nearly £59.00!!!!
So don't be fooled by them.0
