thanks for letting us know steve, did you get fooled into booking at £59 or are you waiting for the price to come down?

hopefully they might change the fare to £59 flight and free taxes and charges for you. or it might even end up being a penny flight, or it may go up again.

    im confused
  • What's there to be confused about?

  • i have been reading this thread for last few days and felt the need to write a reply. if so many of you are so annoyed with ryan air their pricing their service etc etc then why travel with them its simple DONT. But truth is regardless of their lack of customer service skills or sevices all toghther i can truly say you will be pushed at finding flights as cheap as they do them. considering that majority of the flights are for no more than three to four hours long, and you only really need to get from a to b as cheap as possible i dont think you can go wrong. when you ook with ryanair and you pay such a dirt cheap price surely you dont expect 5 star service to go with that cheap seat do you? be fair they sell them cheap and it works if you want better service travel with someone else but be prepared to pay for it and then MOAN about that to . it seems that their is just no pleasing some people. many of ryanairs flight s recently have been free nothing not even taxes so how can you still complain. i live in london it costs me more to go to coventry to visit my parents then it would to catch a flight to europe. please stop moaning about ryanair if you dont like them dont use them and shut up about it SIMPLE. i worked for an airline for 8 years quite a reputable airline, and i still use ryanair because how much better than free can you get.

sorry if i offend anyone , it just gets on my nerves when people moan about something so good, where else can you get FREE FLIGHTS from.

The voice of reason - but if you think that will stop people booking free flights or 1p flights and STILL moaning about card charges, you're wrong.
As a new member (welcome BTW), you've certainly got a surprise in store.
  • Well i went to paris for a week last week with ryanair. Family of 4 flew for 8 pence return. And no taxes.
    Waddle you do eh?

I dont have an electron card and I need to book some flights which I need to do today rather than wait any longer. They charge £4.50 per flight per passenger. £19 card charge to book a flight for 2 which is ridiculous. There are also silly charges for taking a suitcase. Why isnt there a charge for passengers who breathe when they turn up to check in?

Its just another way to fool the customer and make them think the flight is cheaper than what it is. That is all it is. The OFT should get involved and stop all this bo**ocks so the consumer gets one price and knows where he stands. The airlines can then compete on service or something else.

But I NEVER take a suitcase on RyanAir flights.
People who DO want to take hold luggage should pay for it, I applaud RyanAir for not making me subsidise people who can't travel with just hand luggage. :T

Hoseman, we've all read these comments before (ad nauseum) - the solution is simple - book with another airline.
Nobody is forcing you to book with RyanAir - vote with your feet.

I'm surprised that if you were booking today that you found it was £4.50 per passenger per leg of journey for card charges as it recently went up to £5. :D

According to the Ryanair website just now, the payment handling fee is £4.75 (or €5) per passenger per one way flight.

Although Hoseman said it was a £4.50 charge, he mentioned "£19 card charge to book a flight for 2" which does actually work out at £4.75.

Do let us know which alternative airline you booked with and how much you saved by not paying the silly luggage charges and the ridiculous card charges levied by Ryanair.

They haven't worked out how to make a profit form it yet

But given the Ryanair philosophy is "if you don't need it, you shouldn't have to pay for it", I wonder how long it will be before there is a coin slot on the loo doors - or knowing Ryanair, you'll have to book "loo breaks" at time of booking or check-in (charged double no doubt) with no refunds and no - ahem - pooling :D
