never done online check in before with ryanair . do you have to use your passport then while checking in online and do you have to bring it with you to the airport rather than your drivers licence ID card
thanks0 -
This is great news. I've been moaning about this for ages.
I can see a few day-trips on the cards...
So in our case, we are two adults, one child and two infants.A refund of the airport check-in fee is only applicable to the person unable to avail of the service and not all passengers in the reservation.
You are not allowed to check in with more infants than adults - so my wife and I both need to check in with the infants. A child cannot check in on their own, so he has to check in with us, too.
That means that we all have to do manual check-in.
Would we all get our fees refunded?
And how do you get them refunded? Is it a hassle? Do they try to avoid paying it back, or is it relatively simple?0 -

ALWAYS worth checking the blackout dates, I managed to get Bournemouth-Girona for £2 return during feb. half term, which was listed as a "blackout" week.0 -

I found the following on another forum. This is disgraceful if they are planning to get 2 lots of credit card fee's per passenger per flight.I found this.....http://www.businesstraveller.com/news/ryanair-to-charge-A-pound-20-to-check-in-at-the
Quote:From May 1 this airport check-in fee rises to an eye-watering £20 per person per flight (equating to £160 for a family of four taking a return trip with the carrier), in order to “dissuade” passengers from using the desks. In addition all passengers checking in online will be charged £5 per person per flight, regardless of whether they have checked luggage. This fee will not apply to promotional fares.
Can anyone tell me. If Ryanair are going to charge for online check-in and you can' check-in on line until 2 weeks before the flight, will there be another £5 charge for using a credit card again per person per flight?0 -
I got caught off guard once. What initially was meant to be a £2 return flight to Stockholm turned out to be a £12 flight because of the online check-in fees due to the use of credit cards.
Best and only way to get round this, if you want to check-in online without incurring the £5 charge each leg of the journey, is to use a VISA electron card.
That's checking-in online sorted out without an extra penny spent. However, when I travelled I only took onboard hand luggage(made sure it weighed the max. 10kg). I don't have a solution if one has to check-in hold baggage, which means having to check-in at the front desk and inevitably paying the check-in desk charge.0 -
What initially was meant to be a £2 return flight to Stockholm turned out to be a £12 flight because of the online check-in fees due to the use of credit cards.
So, therefore, after 1st May if you book your flight more than 2 weeks in advance your £2 return flight will now (presumably) cost
£2 for flights
£10 credit card fee
£10 online check-in fee
£10 credit card fee for checking in online
I can't beleive this is right, but I can't seem to find any info that says it isn't. The only way to avoid the 2nd credit card fee will be to book your flight less than 2 weeks in advance or to get an electron card!0
