Just booked a weekend (fri - Sun)in Paris for myself and a mate, flights were the grand total of 4. :j
  • I'm so sick of Ryanair - 3 return ryanair flights at 99p each way turned out to be over £190 with the taxes! What a joke!

No-one's making you travel by them. If you don't like it - fly your overpriced legacy carrier of choice.
    From Poland...with love.

    They are (they're)
    sitting on the floor.
    Their
books are lying on the floor.
The books are sitting just there on the floor.
  • Well, I opened my email, saw the offer that's on til midnight in my MSE email, bought three flights for me, my husband and our daughter so we could visit my elderly parents; the amount to be charged was quite clearly stated as £32.58 - then inputted my Visa Debit card details and was charged £62.58 as they'd charged £10 per each of us even though I only used one card (my own) - my daughter is only 2!
I am ashamed to be Irish today - it goes against our national character to be underhand, sneaky and avaricious like Ryanair are... in future I'll be using FlyBe - may be more expensive but they're not misleading and dishonest. It would be OK if it were flagged up anywhere obvious on their website but I had no warning that there would be a debit card charge added on until it was too late and I'd paid.
At the very least MSE should have a warning on the emails they send out about Ryanair hidden charges like this. It's like a 100% mark-up on the sly, and it is disgustingly sneaky - I'm willing to bet hundreds of us have been caught out this way.

Just booked a weekend rtn flight to Carcassonne from EMA costing £1 each way with no tax, used my Halifax electron and as just taking hand luggage that's just £2 each person.

I purely got my electron for Ryanair and don't use it for anything else. To last poster, it updates the amount when you select the payment type, so it would be obvious before paying (yes it is after you've spent time filling all the details, but you can cancel at that point)

Off to see my brother, who I haven't seen since last year. :j

(edit) just looked again and I see the offer is now £10 - so the same flight would now be £20 each. Glad I booked as I was tempted to wait assuming ryanair would do their usual extend it for a day, as I needed to confirm, but thought at the end of the day its only £2, if it turns out cannot go its not a lot wasted

@artemisia - no no no.. totally disagree, when you select your card, it clearly tells you what the price will be. you just failed to see it, like a lot of people who think they've been ripped off...

There is a link to the charges on every page that you go through to book a flight on Ryan Air's website and especially when you click on which card to pay by. You'll also find a warning about these charges in the first paragraph of Martin's article which is linked to in the email.

Too late now for this particular offer but if anyone doesn't have an Electron Visa you can sign up to http://www.entropay.com/ and shift money into it instantly and then input your card number and instead of your name you use Entropay User. Ryan Air will change your transaction from £s to Euros at a later stage so take into account the small charge for doing this.
  • Its the special offer £1 flights you need to be looking for as these include the taxes. Make sure your dates and days are included in the terms of the offer.

At £63 pp could you have got them cheaper elsewhere ???
This is why Ryanair are so successful

You can also get a Travel Money Card from the Post Office, costs you 1.5% of the amount to load it up but then it works like an Electron card

Nice! I'm doing London - Dublin and then Belfast - London the following week, came to £14 :)

This is my first time with Ryanair or with online check in at all. I went with online check in and hand luggage only - what do I do when I get to the airport?! Will I still have to queue somewhere, and get there the two hours in advance, etc?
