I thought it was strange this morning that his lordship had completely cleaned his dishes whilst I was upstairs showering however tonight I realised the cat crunching biscuits was grey and white rather than the silver tabby I live with 🙀 yep the kitten has worked out how to use the cat flap 🙄. I put him out the front door and he ran straight round the back and in again before I could sit down.  His lordship just sat there with a slightly stunned look on his face.  I see trouble ahead, after I locked him out he spent time battering the cat flap and crying 😢 I feel so mean 😕
I'm surprised it took him so long to figure it out!

Aw, I would feel sorry for him too, but you have to put your cat first.

And back to wind + rain this morning :( I had nothing planned so not a problem, just glad I did the gardening spot yesterday
    Porridge breakfast as usual,
Glad said: the yoghurt maker has been on all day so just made up my overnight oats for tomorrow, the yoghurt is quite runny but rather than sieve it and have less, I put it on the oats as it is and it soaks in and thickens up by the morning :)
Glad, I make my own yoghurt and it turns out thick without straining, what system do you use? I use one like this and make a week's supply to sit in fridge
Lunch, because I cooked all 6 of the bangers yesterday i now have cold cooked banger LOs, thus two will provide the filling for a sos & pickle lunchtime sarnie
Dinner, still pondering, as mentioned I have LOs so could be LO bangers / mash, or LO banger + AF HM chips + eggs, or s0d it & nuke a frozen RM sweet & sour chicken. Today is really a day I could do with a cooking fairy plonking a meal in front of me and all I have to do is scoff whatever it is
I'm still collecting lists of great foods I could cook in an air fryer if/when I get one.  Having built my list I can really see the benefits of me having one and am convinced I'd give it good use.  I think, mostly, for quicker sausages and roasties + the difference between bothering to crisp up nuked jacket spuds or not + making chips from raw spuds + bothering to make my own scotch eggs.  So it's still on the list of things I plan to buy next year.
PN, if one near you I noticed in Robert Dyas AFs are on display and accessible for peering & poking as I know you want to examine elements and the like

I've heard of cat flaps that are only triggered by a collar on your cat, not idea how effective they are but just a thought. It's s0d's law isn't it? When we had a cat the blighter would never use a cat flap despite shoving him through it a million times :s

Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens

There are flaps that are triggered by microchip which work really well. If you have lurking enemy cats some flaps allow you to adjust the unlock time so that they can't follow through. They need power though, which can be a faff

Why am I in this handcart and where are we going ?

    Good morning everyone,
Kitty sounds very determined Brambling, obviously aspiring to be "top cat"! ;)
It's not quite as wild here this morning, just a lull before the next round of gales coming tomorrow - this time with snow though we will probably escape the worst of that! I made the most of a gap in the hail showers to do a bin run and top up the indoor log stack. I shouldn't need to venture back out today. :)
Bacon and egg in a toasted muffin for lunch today and later I'm going to turn the fish stock into a soup/sauce and have some of that over hake, langoustines, spinach and spaghetti.
  • I was going for scrambly this morning, but had a craving for mortadella so had sandwiches, and crisps - just because I can. Tea will be some kind of cauliflower cheese with defrosted Waitrose cheese sauce

Why am I in this handcart and where are we going ?

I've got this one it's hit and miss with how thick it is but I think that instead of straining some whey off I just put it on top of my oats and the whey sinks into them and soaks them :)
