Yesterday’s rain continued until this morning but it turned out really nice this afternoon. Parents will be so glad the schools go back next week because these “tattie hols” haven't been the best.
I decided to go into the City for a browse around and got a nice chunky sweater, fingerless gloves and a scarf.
Meatballs are on the go here too, for lunch I defrosted the last of them to slice up and have with salad in a pitta.
For dinner it’s more from the freezer = a portion of spanish style grains and a piece of hot smoked salmon which I’ll heat gently in a pan with some cherry toms and a spoonful of harissa.

Cold start when I set off to the office this morning but also turned into a lovely sunny day here.
Busy day of meetings but found time to eat more cumin roasted carrot, lentil and feta salad for lunch. Quick and easy red pesto pasta with green veg and salmon fillet tonight.

Hair appointment this morning followed by quick trip into Sainsbury's for the parking, just some fresh stuff it's easy to spend the £10.
My sister pop round for a cuppa after work and we booked accommodation in Yorkshire for my brothers funeral at the beginyof November. Due to timings we will be staying two nights, as well a lot of people, we found a holiday let which is cheaper than a holiday. My nepyis on cat duty and plans to watch via video link.
Large mug of roast veg soup for lunch.
Chicken and vegetable stirfry with rice for dinner.

It looks horrible out there today. I'm staying in all day. I'm not hungry yet so I'm just going to have a hot drink. I had some late night snacks last night and I still feel full up.

Very wet overnight, now in a calm spell and getting brighter. Very very glad my roof was fixed 😊
How nice Caron, long lost rellies. Just demonstrates how varied social media can be, good or bad depends on people not the method
My nepyis on cat duty and plans to watch via video link Hope it works well, DD had to return early from recent weekend holiday break because the darn cat was not eating or opening the food trays 😮. Being a cat he had of course used them quite happily for ages before departure.
Another one here making some freezer Christmas space, not for turkey, I'm not getting any this year, but I'm sure some offers will appear
On this theme I have taken some of HG stewed apple out to defrost, crumble time later
First porridge morning this winter with the rain.
Lunch, I've a coupe of cooked, cold, sausages, maybe nibble away at those with pickles?
Dinner, LO braised beef thing

Good morning everyone,
Yes Farway it's been lovely to reconnect and plug some memory gaps, as you say social media can be a mixed bag but great in this instance. Name changes on both sides meant we would have been unlikely to find each other without the mention on a post of a shop a mutual relative owned.
Cold, dark, windy and absolutely tipping it down here. Definitely a day for staying indoors. Tesco due later but apart from that and the usual chores it will be ploughing on with the admin.
Lunch is tbc, probably more soup from the freezer. Dinner also tbc, probably a fish or chicken traybake.

Although I do enjoy hot smoked salmon to eat I absolutely hate the lingering after smell, so this morning the kitchen got a good clean, food waste and rubbish bins emptied and disinfected and now that I’ve had the leftovers for lunch I’ll get the smelly candles lit 😂
For dinner it’s slow roasted pork belly with apple & rosemary, potato wedges and brussel sprouts.

Definitely getting the tail end of Storm whateveritscalled here this afternoon, really windy when I went out for a walk in the sun after work 🙃
Planned a nice catch up work day but it didn't go entirely to plan, was glad when 4p.m. came round. Popped a wash load through and had it on the heated airer in my office🌡
Spinach and ricotta tortellini with tuna, sweetcorn and sun-dried tomatoes for lunch. Other half of the char sui pork in an egg fried rice with baby corn and sugar snap peas tonight.
