The Amazon delivery hasn’t arrived yet, but it gave my a chance to sit and read. I have had a bowl of the lentil soup I made with two slices of bread and Flora. I also had grapes, orange juice and a cup of green tea.

A very chilly start today, according to social media there was a spectacular aurora display last night and guess who slept through it…again 😁

Another soup for lunch today, I had some broccoli and ss peas that were starting to look a bit sad, cooked them in veg stock then added moong dal that was leftover from earlier in the week, gave it a blitz and ended up with a lovely tasty thick soup albeit a not very attractive green colour.

Dinner is a lamb leg steak which I’ll have with caponata from the freezer and toasted ciabatta.

    Good afternoon everyone,

I love a bung it together/fridge gravel soup N2BT and don't care one jot if it looks a tad sludgy.

What a change in the weather from yesterday's gloom and rain - still cold but lovely and sunny.

This morning DS2 emptied the greenhouse, there's decent sized bowl of toms to ripen indoors and a good few small cucumbers but overall it's been a dire growing season. The garden furniture has stored for another year so winter is definitely not far off!

Bacon, spinach and egg bagel for lunch. There's a tub of Meliz Berg's tomato and rice soup defrosting for dinner. I'm make some pitta croutons to have with it. This afternoon I want to roast a pumpkin to make soup for lunches, sort out Hector's veg and if time permits make a start on this dish which we are having tomorrow. Nutty sweet potato and lime stew recipe | Sainsbury's Magazine which I spotted on another thread and fancied trying.

Been the most beautiful day here, and luckily I was out for a walk this morning. Took a cheese and chutney wholemeal roll and some cherry tomatoes for my picnic lunch.

Had stripped the bed before I went out and put the quilt cover and pillowcases in the washer. Popped them out on the line when I got back and they were mostly dry when I brought them in before it got dark and cold.

One of my favourites tonight - steak with lemony spinach, beans, feta and coriander 😋

That nutty sweet potato recipe is lovely, caronc, hope you enjoy it.

    Dull & drizzle.

The Amazon delivery hasn’t arrived yet, Mine arrived after dark, about 8 PM, just left on doorstep of course, no attempt to even ring the bell

I'll be out lunchtime, taking someone to have Flu jab, so lunch may be in a cafe, or may not if I get home in time

Dinner, with the gloom the last of the posh pies, with nuked LO HM mash

I'm going out for lunch today so I only had a smoothie for breakfast. I finally got the right amount of ginger as last time I used too much! I'm having a jacket potato for lunch today as it feels slightly more autumnal. I'm having the last of the lentil soup for dinner with bakery bread.

    Good afternoon everyone,

Cold and drizzly here today though I thankfully avoided getting wet when I was in town earlier. Flu jab and physio now ticked off the to do.

Lunch was a bowl of the spicy pumpkin soup I made yesterday which had benefitted from an overnight mature. A very MSE potful as the pumpkin was only 55p from Tesco and was a decent size. Didn't get as far yesterday as starting the sweet potato casserole we are having tonight so will get that sorted out after I've put my feet up for an hour or so.

I’m going to bookmark that nutty sweet potato stew, I’ve always been meaning to ask JKS about it when she’s had it on her plan, sounds like my kind of dish.

It’s feeling a good bit milder here this morning so I took the chance to get some washing out and mostly dried before the rain due this afternoon.

I had an appointment at the bank with a very helpful member of staff this morning so hopefully that's my accounts and investments sorted for a bit.

Cheese on toast for lunch and I’ve got a couple of meaty chicken thighs cooking in the SC one I’ll have for dinner and try and be creative with the other one tomorrow.

I'm still in denial that I need stew type dinners but will have to put the sweet potato one on the plan soon, it makes a nice lunch alternative to soup for the office.

WFH today so posh fishfinger and gherkin sandwich with some cherry tomatoes for lunch. There is sweet potato here tonight but in a traybake with chorizo and spinach, another favourite 😋

I'm also roasting a pepper and rehydrating couscous to go in a couple of days packed lunches.

I got home about 3pm not the best of journeys as it was very wet so not fun on the M27.

It was good to see all my sisters on Saturday even if there was discussions about medication! My sister and I drove the short distance to Beaulieu village yesterday for a wander around the garden centre and a cuppa and cake, I forgot how much a pain the ponies and donkeys can be in the forest 🙂

I realised I allergic to my sisters hyper puppy, it obviously didn't benefit from the poodle coat although it is more of a poodle coat than the smooth whippet she is currently a very scruffy dog 🤧😷

She doesn't sit still enough to photo but does currently look like she's wearing a curly wig, I found a groomers 5 minutes away from my sis and suggested a visit.

Sandwich for an early lunch and an easy scampi and chips for dinner.
