Interesting re the spices, caronc. Your tuna and braised chickpea recipe is on my to try list so will be keen to hear what you think 🙃

Another office day so second portion of harissa couscous, roast pepper and feta salad for lunch. Just made pasta with green beans and red pesto (for a change), topped with grilled salmon fillet for tea.

Weather was a bit indecisive today but turned warm when I went to the dentist this afternoon. I parked at Sainsbury's so popped in to spend a £10 which unfortunately was very easy to do so it was more than that. I picked up a on offer chicken and another half price half leg of lamb.

I found a gammon joint (a little larger than normal) at the back of the freezer from before last Christmas using a Sainsbury's offer. I AFd it as well as roasting some fennel, beetroot and radishes.

Lunch a repeat of yesterday, tomato and mozzarella salad. Dinner was gammon, new potatoes, roasted veg. I meant to buy a cauliflower as I like cauliflower cheese with gammon, but walked pass them said to myself they look nice and didn't put on in the trolley 🙄

I have had a green smoothie. I am going to have jacket potatoes with cheeze and baked beans and salad today as I really enjoyed the one I had the other day and I now have a brand new jacket potato oven. I have an appointment this afternoon so I will make them when I get back for a late lunch. I might have a toasted bagel with Flora before I leave.

    Lunch, salad sandwich

Dinner, Taken YS MFO tagliatelle out to defrost. I was thinking of ease with the roofer being here. All for nowt now. Never mind, I'll enjoy it.

    Good morning everyone,

JKS the tuna recipe was very good, I didn't have the harissa & lemon paste so improvised by mixing harissa seasoning with tom puree and lemon juice which worked very well. I did slightly over cook the tuna but it was well rested so thankfully didn't dry out. Definitely on the make again as we both really enjoyed it.

Grey and decidedly chilly here today though dry at the moment. I think my oomph has more or less returned to hope to catch up on some much needed housework today.

There's a little of the tomato & chickpea stew LO from last night so I'll have it for lunch with scrambled eggs and spinach. Cumin pork noodles recipe - BBC Food with steamed veg for dinner tonight. Not made it for a while so looking forward to it. I make all of the sauce to go with half the noodles and find that works well portion size for two. Any LOs heat okay with a splash of water added before nuking.

Thanks, caronc. I have ordinary harissa usually so would just add a squeeze of lemon juice. Got other plans for my tuna steak this week but definitely one to try when it's a bit cooler out.

Strangely mild again here. Final office day of a busy week so LO pasta, pesto and green beans from last night turned into a salad with tuna popped in a lunchbox. Needed an easy tea so sausages, potato croquettes and baked beans tonight 😋

I was sent a list from EF via the admin lady at the home including a large amount of DVDs and some clothes, so I popped around this morning to gather them before going in to visit after lunch. She asked me why I brought in all the DVDs 🙄 I told her I wasn't taking them home again she does have a portable easy DVD player I got for her but she hasn't used !

Gammon and watercress roll for lunch.

My sister came in for a chat before I started on dinner, so just a couple of slices of toast and marmalade when she left just before 10pm or I would wake in the middle of the night,

Wet & windy as forecast, just as well the roofer never started yesterday because he certainly would not be up there today. Due to come on Monday weather permitting

    Lunch, another salad sandwich

Dinner, grilled pork chop + boiled "new" potatoes + salad

I had a toasted English muffin with tofu and ketchup and mustard for breakfast. I'm making roasted chickpeas later and I'm having jacket potatoes with baked beans and salad for dinner. I'm about to make a smoothie too. It is rainy here today.

    Good morning everyone,

Cold with squally showers this morning but it's supposed to dry up this afternoon then dip to 1C overnight so expecting to see the first frosts this weekend. Earlier in the year I treated myself to a big woolly poncho so time to look it out I think. Since I've lost a whack of weight I'm really feeling the cold not helped by not being hugely mobile.

Years ago I bought a steam floor cleaner which never really got used and I sort of forgot about with DGD now crawling thought it was time to get it used so looking forward to a play with that. Our new carpet cleaner has also arrived so no excuse for grubby floors anymore…. Tesco are due later, just one acceptable sub. It's big order as I seem to be running low on various household and cupboard items and am making good use of some of their multi buy offers on things we use all the time.

Soup from the freezer. Dinner is the usual Friday tbc.
