@arielgirl Happy Birthday! so horrible when you have to have a lockdown birthday at the best of times, but a significant one is tough. I have my 50th in July and we have lots of things planned including a big family day out for afternoon tea for 24 people and then the whole family are going away for the weekend in August-26 of us and I am praying it can still go ahead as I have been planning it for two years.

I had crispy chicken with a thai style peanut salad which was lovely.

@arielgirl Happy Birthday from me too. Hope you've had the nicest day you could and are planning a lovely treat for the end of lockdown too.
I made this quiche a few days ago and it's lovely, although very rich.

I was going to keep the cheese rind for my next soup but decided to chop it up and put it on top of the quiche rather than have it taking up space in the fridge so that's why you can see printing if you look closely.
I'm eating it with tabouleh, gherkins, radishes or green salad to cut through the richness of the cream.

JIL it's amazing what constitutes a day out these days, I helped a friend move house a few weeks ago and a day spent lugging furniture in and out of vans was like a day out out  :D
We've got our weekly roast dinner from the pub today.
Seen a few local places are taking bookings from 12th April and also 17th May so looking forward to getting some meals out booked in.

Tonight we have slow cooked gammon, new potatoes, and homemade coleslaw and tomatoes. Sunday is a day I like to make something which leaves leftovers which can be taken to work for an easy packed lunch (neither my partner nor I can work from home so still need packed lunches).

We went for husbands vaccine, there were new roads and houses along the route that have been constructed since last year, very different from what we remembered. All really well organised at the vaccination centre. I waited in the car and he was back in less than 10 minutes. We were going to get a drive through Macdonalds coffee but there was a huge queue so we just popped to M&S and I got some bits from there, using a £5 off £40 spend.
For dinner, we had chicken, broccoli, carrots, green beans, stuffing, pigs in blankets, I had vege sausages, roast potatoes and root mash. Found a reduced cheesecake in M&S so that was afters.

Thank you for the birthday wishes. It was a lovely day and evening, despite not being able to go ''out out'' or in fact out. Lol.
Tonight I am having noodle soup with various bits and bobs in it.
