Bought some plant based kievs from M&S at lunchtime, expensive but they're the only ones I've seen and they're nice. I had mine with boiled potatoes and sliced leeks (ys from yesterday) OH had his with mushy peas and mash.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

@kerri_gt thought it was just me not liking current flowers in M&S until I read your comment, odd that their supplies have suddenly gone pear shaped.
Anyway, made chickpea and pumpkin casserole in the slow cooker for dinner and ate it with cous cous and a mixed salad dressed with lemon juice. Casserole came from Skinny Vegetarian Slow Cooking and is flavoured with cumin, turmeric, garam masala, paprika, sea salt, coriander, ginger and black pepper which turned out to be delicious and only 240 kcals for a really filling portion.
Off to bed now, sweet dreams to all, goldfinches.2 -
@goldfinches I guess for M&S it's the same as a lot of companies, they rely on 3rd parties for their supply and if their flower growers have had down time or restrictions they'll be put on the back foot and not have the options available we usually see. I heard in a garden centre a little while ago someone asking for honeysuckle plants and the guy working there said that lockdown #1 came just as those and similar plants like Clematis would have been started off or prepared (for larger specimens) for sale this year - but because people couldn't work, and they didn't know what was going to happen, they didn't do them.
Casserole sounds lovely btw (I'll skip the cous cous, not a massive fan - can never work out whether to chew it or not lol)Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

@kerri_gt that explanation makes sense to me, thanks for passing it on.
Had second portion of chickpea and pumpkin casserole for dinner this evening again with cous cous which is a favourite of mine partly because of the ease of preparation.
I put 50g in a small bowl (on the kitchen scales), pour over 75g just boiled water from the kettle, swirl the bowl so all the cous cous is in the water, snap the lid on and leave it for 10 mins, then fluff with a fork and its done.
Bear in mind I like mine quite dry and firm, you could add anything up to 90g of water and leave it for slightly longer to swell if you prefer the Tunisian style wetter texture.
Off to bed, sweet dreams all, goldfinches."She could squeeze a nickel until the buffalo pooped."
