Curry for us, chicken Balti using a jar with the spices in the top from aldi. 89p well worth it. I had a vegetable curry from the freezer stash. With some samosas and a pack of micro rice also from aldi and some nan bread from m and s that daughter bought as you cant have curry without them apparently. At £2.19 a pack, I think you can.

Oven steamed salmon with lemon and dill, sliced fried potatoes and peas & carrots.  Shared the potatoes with OH and the salmon with the cat.

Quorn bolognese. I had mine with a jacket potato, OH had his with linguine. White chocolate and raspberry cookies later as a Friday treat (and, of course, they were YS) :joy:
  • Chicken Saag Masala with turmeric rice and garlic naans. I usually make my own curry paste but bought this from Aldi for the store cupboard as a quick fix - spices tasted very ‘raw’ even though I fried it off for 10 minutes, ended up adding half a can of coconut milk for creaminess.

Daughter brought a butchers steak and ale pie home from work. They usually do "fat Friday" but three people phoned on poorly so it was a leftover. Husband had that with some oven chips and baked beans. Daughter had leftover macaroni cheese from Wednesday with some oven chips and I had fishcakes with baked beans.

I made some seafood pancakes tonight - poached flaked cod, prawns, diced onion, mushroom and chopped parsley in a cream sauce - and they were blummin' lovely. Lemon Greek yogurt with wonky blueberries for pud.
  • I spent a large part of this afternoon making Delia's sour cream and onion tart which turned out beautifully and ate it with y/s tenderstem broccoli and rocket. Didn't fancy any pudding due to having eaten so much tart!  :open_mouth:
