For lunch today we'll have brocolli soup I made Monday night. Had tired looking brocolli in fridge needing using up.
For tea I also found some M&S veil meatballs in the freezer, so will have spaghetti with meatballs. These come in a M&S meat pack that I buy when I get £5 off on Sparks card, but I didn't get one since New Year so who knows how long have these been there🙈

Having a freezer forage today, I know there is some COD in there, like Any, I don’t know when it went in there, probably last Autumn. I also have some smoked haddock, so fish pie I think, or I might just use a breadcrumb and cheese topping

lunch will be a cheese and caramelised onion toasted sandwich to use the last of the grated cheddar, I grate a block at a time to stretch it further

  • The last of the pea soup for lunch today with toast I think and supper this evening will be a cheese and tomato pizza with potato waffles and peas, all from the freezer as I think we would like a treat!  Ice cream for pudding too.....a tiny bit of life as it used to be to warm our hearts (apart from the ice cream of course).

I have about 150ml og single cream that needs using up.. any ideas? Can you nake caramel sauce with single cream? I could put that in the fridge and use up on desserts.
Otherwise not sure what to use it for without going shopping for extra ingredients (like apple pie to put it on🤣🤣)

My OH eats (bought) rice pots by ton.
But I never made one from scratch! I have basic idea, but not actually tried it.. what rice do you need? I have basmati, easy cook short grain and a bit of risotto/paella rice
  • Any rice will make a pudding, basmati tastes exotic, short grain is traditional pudding rice and risotto has a different texture but I've used all of them for rice puddings and they were all LOVELY!! mind I'm a bit of a ricepuddingacholic!

    Afternoon all,
Another lovely day.........blossoms out in full on Bramley tree and gone over on Katy, three little trees in god's little acre have blossom too, although just on bottom branches. I think that we don't usually have blossom until later in May.
MrsLW......I love baked apples with mincemeat and custard or yogurt.....have no apples and would have to buy imported so no go!
Really like sweet potatoes but neither OH or DD do so they are not appearing on the menu at present.
Nothing else to report from here, stay safe everybody
