Tonight: pasta pesto with sundried tomatoes, and poached salmon on the side. I think I'll make a custard dessert, maybe even turn it into creme brulee under the grill.

Just had some soup from the freezer for lunch. The soup had a selection of veg, mince and butter beans in it and appeared to be tomato based. I added some spaghetti to bulk it up. Honestly not sure what we are having for dinner. Am aiming to hit the supermarket later to get fruit and veg at least, because we have two guinea pigs. so possibly will wait until after to decide on dinner. I still have some soup left so might have that if feeling peckish before going shopping, depending on the time.4

Lunch has just been home made bread (We decided to use up some of the "stash" of bread flour, even though we may never see any again. See the thread on this.) some wafer thin smoked ham and some home-made mustard (1 tablespoon of Colman's powder + 1 tablespoon of water. Use VERY sparingly.).I'm not sure about dinner. The minced beef is out of the freezer. I won't ask what Her Ladyship is planning to make. A surprise will ensure it's the high spot of the day. The rivals are the Java update and recycling the brown paper from the latest Jiffy bag."Life is much/far too important a thing ever to talk seriously about it." Oscar Wilde, in "Vera; or, The Nihilists” (much), then "Lady Windermere's Fan" (far).5

We had tinned tuna and salad for lunch, using up the last of the small lettuce.
Tonight will be fish - hooray! DD got us some from the supermarket yesterday so we will have it with potato wedges and frozen peas, followed by h/m mincemeat and apple sponge as I found half a jar of mincemeat in the fridge and used one of last week's apples from the fruit bowl.
I find it hard to judge what veg we'll need for the forthcoming week so we usually end up with too much or too little. Anyway. we've now made a 4 day meal plan so that might help a bit.

I’m making a pizza tonight, with a sourdough base and lots of random toppings to use up stuff from the fridge - there is a bit of ham, some salami, tomato, red pepper, red onion, mozzarella, mushroom, a handful of grated cheddar and some fresh basil. Will serve with a salad - I’m out of cucumber and there are only a very few lettuce leaves left but I can supplement it with some tiny baby spinach and rocket leaves from the garden.5

Soup and apple and blueberry crumble for lunch today and supper will be home made sweet potato falafels with a red cabbage based salad in some pitta breads (if I can find the pack I put into the big chest freezer) or in some home made flat breads.4

Friday night is still date night 🥰 and hubby is getting us a takeaway, most of our local restaurants have turned to home delivery, so we have a fab selection, our favourite pub for Sunday lunch Is giving over 70’s and anyone that works in a care home free lunches, which is amazingly generous of them - I know this situation is hard, but it’s really is bringing out the kindness in so many people.
