C_J said:I thought that Nigel’s chorizo and bean soup on yesterday’s DK looked lovely.
JIL, you can freeze eggs if you’re overwhelmed by how many you have. Lightly beat them in batches of two or three eggs and freeze them in bags.
Tonight we will be finishing up yesterday's lamb biriyani which was really tasty, and there is the last of the trifle for pud.
Tonight we are finally having the lobsters I got in the large fish box I bought this week. Hope it is good. I have never really cooked lobster myself, but watched few videos so fingers crossed it works! With garlic butter on it. We'll have fries on the side and maybe tomato mozzarela salad too.5 -
Make the soup, I made it yesterday, really good, I have enough for my work lunches too, I sprinkled a bit of grated Parmesan on it - yum...
Any - enjoy your lobster, I would suggest a pot of melted butter and a pot of mayonnaise to dunk the meat into, we prefer crab, but eat most seafood, we have mussels, oysters arriving next week, along with a load of mackerel and potted shrimp - BBQ’d mackerel with plenty of salt is probably one of my favourite ways of eating fish 😊 we normally get a load from friends fishing locally but it’s not appropriate exercise 😳
todays dinner is Duck confit, roast potatoes, spiced red cabbage (too hot) salad, new potatoes and asparagus, will bake a lime and coconut traybake for pud and to take to colleagues tomorrow 👍Note to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

I think I have misplaced my cooking mojo as I’m currently not enjoying preparing or eating food at the moment. It’s rare for me to feel this way, and it’s bothering me so I hope it doesn’t last long! I’m blaming it on the topsy turvey nature of things.
We had a full cooked breakfast this morning so will be giving lunch a miss. Supper tonight will be roast chicken, roast potatoes, cabbage and carrots plus a couple of pigs in blankets and mini Yorkshire puddings from the freezer. I have a couple of bananas which need using up so will make some banana custard for pud.6 -
C_J don't beat yourself up about your cooking mojo, mine often takes a bit of a break, pandemic or not. Largely its because I'm busy with other things. I've also found I'm not eating as much, not entirely sure why as I'm still exercising although have cut down on running, mainly so i can go out with OH for walks, plus if I keep training up as if I'm prepping for a race I'll just get injured, and i do have a slight hip niggle that I've finally acknowledged will prob be better for a bit of a rest. I've tried to use the time for other exercise classes i wouldn't normally do.
Right, food. Last night was breaded haddock, OH had the last of the sweet potato fries and baked beans and i had mine with vegetable rice.
I also cooked a vegetarian chilli for tonight, it tasted a bit strong on the chocolate front ( add in dark choc thanks to an IM tip) so I've tried to offset that with a bit of salt and red wine. Fingers crossed.
I also made a banana loaf yesterday with rum and rolos in it ( it was adapted from a toffee gin recipe but i didn't have any toffee gin, and rolos were the closest i had to toffee pieces. Figured rum and banana would work just fine..kinda pina colada loaf)Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

We went slightly over board with the amount of food we ordered on our takeaway on Friday night, so Saturday was leftovers from that. I am trying to be healthier today
by cooking a vegetable noodle chicken soup for lunch. I have a packet of sausages in the fridge, will cook those up tonight and split them to have tonight and either to have in meals for next few days or freeze. Not entirely sure if I fancy something salad based or ''warmer'' like mash potato gravy with them tonight.
