Mrs LW bit late now given they're on the compost but if the same happened in future could you chop and freeze the celery sticks and use it to make stock? I have lots of iffy bits of celery which I use for that.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

We had sausages and I decided on pasta salad with tomatoes, spinach, chickpeas and mayo last night. Made garlic bread to go with it but realised we didn't really need it too. Going to have the garlic bread for lunch today instead.
Dinner is going to be sweet and sour chicken. Just a jar of sweet and sour sauce and I normally use chicken burgers, even value ones are nice, chop them up and mix with the sauce. Couldn't find any chicken burgers, bought chicken nuggets instead. Will have with rice. This is normally one of our really cheap meals as we usually use ''value'' ingredients for the whole meal and is actually really tasty. I paid a bit more for the ingredients this time due to what was available in the shops however it is still a relatively inexpensive dinner.5 -

I'm drooling over that lobster, Any.
I'm about to strip the roast chicken from yesterday, and will turn most of it (it wasn't a very big chicken) into a chicken and sweetcorn puff pastry pie, with hopefully enough bits of meat left to also make some chicken, red pepper and kidney bean enchiladas too. Carcass --> the pressure cooker to make stock, obv.
Mrs LW, you should go online and request a refund from Asda for the rubbish celery - it's a very quick and easy process to complain. I managed to secure an Asda delivery last Friday and it was a saga of awfulness. I was obviously delighted to have managed to get a delivery slot, but it's not much help when your shopping turns up looking as though someone has backed over all of it in a 38 tonne lorry, and everything was coated with double cream from a 600ml pot which had been smashed up all over it! There weren't enough characters in the complaints box for me to list everything that was wrong, which makes me sound like Mrs Grumpy Ungrateful but honestly, it was so bad. It was my first online shop with Asda, and they've not endeared themselves to me5 -

Sweet potato and pumpkin pie with LO veg rice and some sweetcorn.
OH had a plant based BBQ jackfruit pizza, apparently it was a winner.
Made a huge pot of ragu with some mince, lentils and veg. 4 portions in the freezer and 2 made up into single lasagnes minus the white sauce which I'll prob add when i cook them i think.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Given the indulgence yesterday we had just carbonara for dinner. I say just-but it is actually one of few meals that Mr A makes in our house and I can eat it by tonnes!
No cream in ours, egg, s&p and parmesan only. Streaky bacon till really crisp. Yum
We were actually both really busy at our PCs today (last week was quite quiet on the work front!), so for lunch I just chucked pack of spring rolls I found in the freezer into the oven and made a little cucumber&carrot salad with it.

Evening All.
If something gets broken in my weekly online shop, it's most often a pot of cream. And they like to squash salad bags sometimes. But generally, I'm a big fan and have been for a few years. it just arrives, no hassle. Although it's a bit more hit and miss at the moment...
I was upset tonight, next door neighbours had about 20 people on the front for nearly an hour to celebrate her 80th birthday, dishing out glasses of fizz, it should have waited and there was no way they were all 2 metres apart. So selfish and definitely old enough to know better. Bit rich if they are out again on Thursday clapping the NHS. So we just had fishfingers, chips and beans for tea, I was too cross to cook anything else. Elderly neighbour other side was out as well, I'm fetching her blooming shopping for her tomorrow so she's not at risk! Rant over.
