What are you making for dinner?

  • Last night was roast chicken, with a lemon, garlic and basil gravy (bit of a riff on a go-to Nigel Slater recipe), mash and cabbage.

Tonight is the first evening of "teaching my friend who can just about boil an egg to cook" - we're starting with roast pork, roast spuds, veggies and apple sauce. This could go either way...
  • Dinner today is left over Spag bol from yesterday. Lunch is cheesy bake potato taken into work.
  • Last night was Coq au Vin, Mash and French Peas. Tonight we will be having Tandoori Salmon, Mango Salsa and New Potatoes :)
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)

No thanks sure what OH had, I was still working when he got home.

I've just had a bowl of casserole made last night (slightly overlooked it last night and the veg were a bit soft with a mind it will be reheated but never mind) and some Yorkshire puds courtesy of Aldi (because I've come to accept I'm just a bit carp at making them and it's easier and prob as cheap to get a bag of cheapo ones)

Did a 'proper' food shop today...i.e. something other than cheese and wine. Will hopefully do us for a bit. I also found some panko breadcrumbs in the cupboard which I've got out and will do some breaded fish with some frozen fillets that are in the freezer (odd that..given they'd are frozen :rotfl:)
