We had pork, stuffing, red cabbage, jersey potatoes, broccoli in cheese sauce, brussels and roasted carrot and parsnip. Sounds good in theory but I didn't roast the carrots and parsnips for long enough, put too much vinegar in the red cabbage, and overcooked the potatoes. Apparently the pork was nice!!
Must try harder, my mind is on other things.
Hope all is ok JIL If anyone thought they could do any better, do suggest they are welcome to next time. Frustrating though when you put so much effort in and cooking doesn't turn out as you'd hoped.
Have been away visiting family north of the boarder for a few days so dinners have been out a lot, hot smoked salmon salad for starter and a main if venison two ways on Friday (very rare I have game but it was lovely, except far too much, half the portion would've been sufficient)...or as our very amusing waiter wrote down 'one bambi':rotfl: (at least I accept it is what I am eating as a carnivore, though trying to cut down so it was a 'treat')
Sat was bruschetta to start and a pizza.
Sunday was a mixed sharer with wings, onion rings, breaded mushrooms and other assorted 'orange', main was a lentil and sweet potato cottage pie (made up for eating Bambi) which was nice..,,but could've been twice the size.
Far too many other calories consumed via beer and intermittent bags of crisps.
Were running a bit behind today before heading home so sadly no well fired (OH) or morning rolls (me) for breakfast tomorrow. I did get a roll and square sausage today for breakfast though so not all bad.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16
