Son1 is making a large lamb curry from the Takeaway Secret recipe book. We’ll have that with naans and rice.

    Trifle for pudding.

Emptying the freezer today before going on holiday, so it's low fat quarter pounders, HM chips, onions. Will also have some lettuce leaves & sliced tomato. There's also some cornichons if DH wants them (I'm not keen on them with burgers!).

The only things left in the kitchen freezer will be some ice cubes, which I'll just chuck in the sink to melt and some frozen lemon slices which I'll put in the outside freezer which I'm leaving on while we're away.

Will be nice to be able to defrost the freezer tomorrow morning before leaving.

  • Some steak in the slow cooker will probably just do some chips and peas to go with it.
I have lots in the freezer so spending on food should be quite low in January.

  • Happy New Year everyone. Going to parents for dinner today - Mum making beef bourginon and I have made apple crumble for pudding.
  • Last night we had sirloin steak, chips, onion rings, baby roasted tomatoes, garlic mushrooms and peas, with a couple of glasses of red.

Tonight we'll be having tortellini primavera with garlic bread. I've also made a cherry cheesecake, using up some of the leftover M&S cherries in kirsch I bought before Christmas that I needed for a black forest gateau.
